AaronJB
Welcome to Betterbidding. :) I believe there are more amenities then what you have posted above as HOT.WIRE has a new interface that does not show the complete set of amenities unless you click thru a few extra links. If you repeat your search using our Bidding.Helper.com tool... use the HOTWIRE EASY VIEW tab and then click the GREEN BUTTON next to this listing, do you see more amenities then what you have listed above? Please also include all accessible amenities. Also, I'm quite familiar with Chicago - please let me know if you have any city questions. Thank you for using the board's HOT.WIRE or PRICE.LINE links to start your purchases and searches. Link to comment
salina
Thank you, Aaron. seems like only the 2nd hotel was missing some amenities. The first hotel is fine. 1st hotel: FULL AMENITIES: Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access 2nd hotel: FULL AMENITIES: Boutique hotel, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access. Can you please tell me what the two hotels might be? Thanks for your help. Link to comment
AaronJB
4* Mag Mile-WT $115 -- My guess would be the Allerton 4.5* Mag mile-RN $194 Boutique, Restaurant, Fitness, Smoke Free, Hi-Speed Internet, Business-- Possible match for the Palomar. I'll actually recommend something in-between: 4.5* Mag Mile N-WT $162 (you may see a slightly different price) w/Boutique, Restaurant, Fitness, Smoke Free, Free Internet, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Blind Accessible, Deaf Accessible, Travel Accessible, Room Accessible, Bathroom Accessible, Roll-in Shower.-- Possible match for the Sofitel. salina
Thanks for your input. Why would you recommend the third one? is it because of better location? Thank you. Link to comment
AaronJB
The potential Sofitel would be a cheaper alternative to the potential Palomar, while also being a very nice hotel in a great location. The Allerton's in a great location, but is a historic property with small/very small rooms. salina
Aaron, can you please help me one more time between these 3. do you recommend river north area or water tower? 1st hotel: $122: Magnificent Mile North - Water Tower 4 star. FULL AMENITIES: Boutique hotel, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking, Roll-in shower --- 80% recommended OR $120 : Magnificent Mile Area - River North - 4star, FULL AMENITIES: Boutique hotel, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking, Roll-in shower --- this one is 90% recommended OR $156 Magnificent Mile Area - River North - 4 star - FULL AMENITIES: Free Internet, Boutique hotel, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Spa services, Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Wheelchair accessible, Accessible bathroom, Roll-in shower - -- 65% recommended I'm really confused. AaronJB
The Mag Mile-RN area is basically the bottom half of the North Michigan Ave shopping area plus the River North restaurant and nightlife area. The Mag Mile N-WT area is the top half of the NMA area plus the Gold Coast restaurant and nightlife area. To me both have their positives and I really don't care between the two - I am more focused on hotel than which of these two zones I end up staying in and that's what I'd recommend. Both of these areas are NOT that large - Price.line combines these two zones into one area. I'm not seeing either of the 4*'s for $120 or $122 but the 4* $156 Mag Mile-RN would be a possible match for the Felix. I'd rather recommend a 4.5* Mag Mile N-Water Tower for $170 w/Boutique, Restaurant, Smoke Free, Hi-Speed Internet. -- This would be a possible match for the Ivy. Not seeing the potential match for the Sofitel or Allerton that I mentioned yesterday. If you wait, listings can disappear at any time. Please keep us updated on what you decide. I didn't know HOTWIRE includes the downtown area in the watertower/rivernorth area.. or is it all the same? Link to comment
thereuare
Congratulations on your success! Hope you're pleased with the results and this property will suit your needs well for this trip. I will leave it to AaronJB to offer suggestions/comments for this area, but i will add that regardless of the zone name, it is the zone boundaries as shown on the HOTWIRE map that determine where your hotel may be located. Everyone can have a different interpretation of what 'downtown' is for any given city, so it's best to look at the boundaries on the map and not just the zone name. Thank you for sharing your win with the board. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Enjoy your stay. AaronJB
The Mag Mile-RN area is the lower half of the NMA area plus River North. River North is really a very nice area, with a lot of restaurants and nightlife. This hotel is at the bottom end of the River North area, which makes it convenient to the Loop (on the other side of the River), the majority of River North (in the blocks to the North) and Michigan Ave isn't that far a walk to the E/NE. This property used to be the House of Blues Hotel (the HOB is still next door.) If you have any restaurant or other city questions, please let me know likes/dislikes and generally what you are looking for.
