ps:  why does it seem Hot.wire taxes and charges seem higher than Price.line ?

As far as fees goes, sometimes HOTWIRE may include a resort fee in their total taxes/fees whereas for the same hotel PRICELINE may not, but each service can determine their own booking fee, and in this instance it looks like HOTWIRE is a little more (although rates look a little higher on PRICELINE EXPRESS, so it may be a 'wash')

I believe there are more amenities then what you have posted above as HOTWIRE has a new interface that does not show the complete set of amenities unless you click thru a few extra links.

If you repeat your search using our BiddingHelper.com tool... use the HOTWIRE EASY VIEW tab and then click the GREEN BUTTON next to this listing, do you see more amenities (including any accessible amenities) then what you have listed above? Using this method, below is the full list of amenities i'm seeing for the 3 star hotel in this zone when searching for your dates:

... if this is what you're seeing, the Holiday Inn Express Fishermans Wharf would be my best guess for this one.

HOWEVER, why not the 4* hotel in this same zone for a little less at $170/nite (and a 4.5/5.0 TA rating) with:

Smoke Free

Fitness

Business

Hi-Speed Internet

Blind Accessible

Deaf Accessible

Travel Accessible

Room Accessible

Wheelchair Accessible

Bathroom Accessible

... i'm not sure which one this may be, but with the 4.5/5.0 TA rating, and a higher star rating and lower price then the one above, this would seem like the better value, imo.

Indeed I was looking at both properties.  From what I could tell they have similar ratings. Free breakfast for $10 more was talking to me if they were fairly close in terms of amenities/comfort.

 

Any guess on the 4* property so I can do a better comparison ?

Opted to go for the 4*   Thought it might be the Hotel Zephyr.   It was !  Struggled whether to wait or buy.  Lotsa expensive stuff listed and unsure if it will drop as we get closer.  One in the hand thing...
