cesco.g
Las Vegas 10/17 - 10/18/15: Which hotel is this 3* This 3* property West of Strip is listed with the following ammenities: Casino, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access 40% recommended, $ 16 resort fee, Trip advisor rating 3.5 out of 5. The only match with exactly the same ammenities from the hotel list is the Gold Coast. However the Gold Coast has a 4 out of 5 rating Trip Advisor Rating (?) And the resort fee shows $ 14.55 at Expe.dia, $ 12.99 at Booking.com (?) Any help ID-ing is appreciated. Link to comment
thereuare
I don't think that the TA ratings shown by HOTWIRE are updated in realtime, so it's possible that this is the Gold Coast with the TA rating recently being updated (but not yet reflected by HOTWIRE)... although given the inconsistency i'm far from certain that this is the case. In regards to the Resort Fee i wouldn't use any of that information as the fees change so frequently that most websites can't keep up with the changes (as evidenced by the different rates you're seeing above for the same hotel). As well, some properties list the resort fee before taxes while others list it post-tax, which is another reason for inconsistencies you may see. And lastly, HOTWIRE lists the resort fee as 'about' so anything close to the figure listed would likely qualify as 'about'. What is it that you're looking for from this stay? Do you want to stay at a hotel where only 40% of previous guests would recommend the property? Have you tried searching MAPS and HOTELS.com for anything located within your desired area and budget? cesco.g
Thanks for your insight, theruare. The 40% recommandation rating is pretty low indeed and does not seem to concur with the rather high rating of the Gold Coast on TA.I will ck out the Maps & Hotels site as well.Basically looking for a decent, clean room, $ 90-120 range (all-in), preferrably in Tropicana area, orStrip South, West of Strip, East of Strip, LV South. thereuare
HOTWIRE has a 2.5* in hotel in the West of Strip zone for $70/nite and a 4.5/5.0 TA rating with: Free Parking Complimentary Breakfast Free Internet Pet Friendly Indoor Pool Smoke Free Fitness Pool Business Laundry Hi-Speed Internet Golf Room Accessible Bathroom Accessible Handicapped Parking ... best guess would be an upgrade of the La Quinta Inn and Suites Las Vegas Tropicana since it was last reported to the board. Correct... as per my quote above, i'm speculating that the property has been upgraded since it was last reported to the board. Edit: the person I am helping this with was wondering, if this 2.5* (La Quinta) might pop up again? Your experience? Link to comment
AaronJB
There is no way to know if a hotel will re-appear on the service (if it will add more inventory.) If a hotel has no more inventory for a set of dates, I wouldn't get my hopes up that more inventory will be added and would at least be looking at alternate possibilities. thereuare
I don't have a guess for the 3* property... and i'm not currently seeing the 2* on my HOTWIRE search when searching for your dates. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. (and if the person you're helping will ultimately be making the purchase please ask them to do the same) Thanks. cesco.g
Indeed, Hotel # 2 is not showing anymore. Meanwhile, I keep plugging into Bidding Helper on a twice daily basis ...... gotta be patient -_- Link to comment
Romelle
You've got just over a week. Sometimes a good thing to do at this point is to make a cancelable back-up reservation. Both you and the person you are helping can then comfortably keep looking for the better deal. There is detail on how to find cancelable rates in the blue PRICELINE BID REJECTED?? up above. cesco.g
Thanks for the reminder, Romelle. They did that. Meanwhile, I will keep checking Bidding.Helper, especially re Hot.wire, they seem to have better value/selection than PRICELINE EXPRESS. Link to comment

cesco.g
Back to BiddingHelper today I found:2* Las Vegas South; $ 7285% recommendedFree parking, Free breakfast, Free Internet, Pet friendly, Indoor pool(s), Airport shuttle, Fitness center, Pool(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Internet accessThis seems to match the Baymont Inn of the Hotellist.I then checked PRICELINE EXPRESS on BiddingHelper, where a similar (maybe same) hotel showed for $ 75.Decided to reload/tap the search button again on BiddingHelper and low&behold now the price dropped to $ 69. !!! within some 5 minutes. I gotta believethe "HW-NSA" ( ^_^ ) was watching and did not like my move over to check PRICELINE EXPRESS..A quick check with my friends > go for it > Bingo it was the Baymont Inn. A couple of observations re the Hotel List:HW ammenities show also Self-service laundryThe HotelList also shows a 2.5* Microtel Inn, which I understand was the hotel's name, before it became Baymont (by Wydham?), maybean update on the Hotel List could reflect that. Thanks all the mods for their advise! This was definitely in interesting excercise, along the chance to help somebody. Mods: shall I report the successful bid in a new/separate thread? Pls advise Link to comment
