Is this for the same dates as your Hotwire NYC thread?

Just as with that post, we will need the dates in order to start to research this.

I"m very familiar with this area... what is it that you're looking for in a hotel for this trip and what is your maximum budget per nite? (before taxes/fees)

Please keep all posts for the same stay in the same thread. Once you win a hotel, use the 'ADD REPLY and REPORT WIN' button on the lower right corner of the page to edit the topic title to reflect your win and to provide the details of your purchase. This helps keep the board better organized by reducing the number of unresolved threads that don't have any follow-up or conclusion.

Yes, sorry: 09/15 - 09/16

Do you mean 10/15-10/16

Ideally keeping rates below $250/night.

If your budget is $250 per nite then you should stay in Manhattan for the convenience and a better overall experience... if you're trying to save money and be within a budget then NJ can provide a reasonable compromise.

How much are you really looking to spend on a room for this trip and, other then budget, why do you think staying in NJ would be a better option for you?

If not $250/nite... what is your true budget for this trip?

How many rooms/adults/children are you including in your search? (and how many adults/children do you actually need accommodations for?)
