AaronJB
This listing has not yet been ID'd/reported to the board, but a guess would be the Hilton Garden Inn TS. Is TS the only acceptable zone? It's generally the most expensive zone in the city - Midtown East, ESB and MSG are options where you'd either get a cheaper hotel or a higher star rating for a similar price. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Link to comment
nancynancy
Hi there, Well, no, I guess Times Square/Theatre District isn't the only acceptable zone. It's my Husband's first trip to NYC (birthday trip) and we are there for 3 nights only so I thought it would be nice to stay somewhere very central for tours, walkability and general sights and sounds of NYC. Midtown East is likely our next best option. That said, I'd probably be happy with Hilton Garden Inn TS for that price. Hmmmmmm! Thanks again! Link to comment
thereuare
There are a few Hilton Garden In properties in this zone, so just to clarify, i think the one being referenced (and my guess as well) is this one: Hilton Garden Inn Times Square Central at 136 West 42nd St. I'm very familiar with NYC should you have any questions or if i can help further with your travel planning. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. nancynancy
Thank you so much thereuare!! I've got a refundable room booked at the Crowne Plaza and signed up with IHG which I believe gives us free internet and waives the daily service fee. Rate is $1032 for three nights. But wow, add the tax and the conversion from USD to CAD and that brings the price up considerably! We do really want to be very central. As mentioned above it's a short trip and first time for the hubby so I want to be close to everything including the theatres and sights of the city!! If you have suggestions for a hotel that might suit our needs at a better price I'd be happy to hear them! I'll be sure to post details if I pull the trigger and book something via hotwire/priceline. Thanks again! Link to comment
AaronJB
Thank you for keeping us updated on if you decide on a HOTWIRE/PRICELINE listing. I will say there's definitely cheaper options on HOTWIRE, including a 4* in MTE for $245 w/Boutique, Restaurant, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Laundry, Bathroom Accessible. The total is $951 and that has a 4.5/5 tripadvisor rating showing on the detail page. thereuare
Is that $1032 rate in US or CAD Dollars? thereuare
How about this 4* MTW hotel (confirm your dates on the landing page) thru PRICELINE EXPRESS for $259/nite (take the King bed option) with: Pets Allowed Business Center Restaurant Free Internet ... my best guess for this one would be the Cassa Hotel 45th Street New York, which if correct, gets very good reviews and is very centrally located. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Does this one work well for your needs? nancynancy
Well guys, my apologies. In a communication error my husband (while researching Cassa 45th st) accidentally booked a non refundable room there. Sigh. Thanks anyway! I'll make sure to keep the lines of communication clear next time! Link to comment
