Welcome to Betterbidding. :)

My guess is that this is the Kitano. You could get a win at the 4* level slightly-to-moderately lower, but the question becomes, do you want to risk getting something else? If this is the Kitano, that would be a pretty nice result and there's no way to know if you will get something different if you bid.

Many thanks. I am looking for anything 3*+ in Manhatten for April/May, for 5 nights [although very happy to break up my stay in order to get a deal/steal].

So the issue is with such a wide window and scope of hotel its hard to pin things down. I definitely have a budget of around $170 per night (all in), but would love to find something for 140-150.

At the risk of losing tempers with repetitive bid questions, I did come across something that looked very interesting:

6 May - 9 May [3 nights], Priceline Express Deal, 4*, Central Park South, $119 per night

Fitness Centre, Business Centre, Free Internet. Guest score of 7+

I went on the Priceline normal hotel view, and filtered for that location, and for the amenities, there were only 6/5 hotels, most of them were around $300 per night, but one was Park Central, and was about $165. Is it 95% certain that this Express Deal is Park Central, or do people actually get $300 hotels for $119?

Finally the taxes and surcharges really kill you, the above offer is 119 a night so I figured $357. It is actually $530 all in, so $177 per night. Right at the top of my budget.

There are service surcharges, but in terms of hotel taxes hotel tax is unfortunately hefty whether regular rate or discount rate. In this case though, not helping is a resort fee for this particular property of nearly $30 per night. (Mandatory fee of $27.21 per room per night is collected at the hotel regardless of how the hotel is booked.)

When you look at the Park Central on Hotels..com, it notes a resort fee of $27.21, so that would be my guess.

Please feel free to ask us any questions at all regarding listings, but given that you do have a long time between now and your stay, please let us know when you are ready to purchase as a lot can change between now and your stay and the options we research today can easily change between now and your stay.
