AaronJB
Welcome to Betterbidding. This would be a possible match for the Whitehall. Location couldn't be better. Older property, but reviews have improved lately - they used to be more mixed. Would this be of interest? If not, let us know more about what you are looking for in terms of hotel (budget, style, area, anything that would assist research) and we would be happy to offer our thoughts. I'm very familiar with the area and would be happy to make hotel or city recommendations. mkarla
Thank you for this information, we love that area and usually stay at the Knickerbocker but right now it's $200/nt. Do you know how the Whitehall compares to the Knickerbocker? Can the % recommended be used to figure out hotels? This offer says 85% seems like a low %. When I look at Whitehall on Hotwire's site it shows 90% recommended. I'll keep searching, I'd like to stay at $150/nt max would love much lower of course. Water Tower area is my number one choice, I don't want to go South from there. Most of the time I'll be in Wicker Park, so I like the distance from here. Link to comment
mkarla
I just realized I posted this in the Priceline forum but it's a Hotwire offer. Can this be moved over to Hotwire? I knew I would miss something, first post could not have gone 100% :) Link to comment
AaronJB
The Whitehall is also an older property, but rooms are a tad smaller and it is an independent hotel. The Knickerbocker is a Millennium property and was given a significant renovation a few years back where they closed a portion of the hotel for a time and I think that is a nicer property. The reviews for the Whitehall have improved, but they are still somewhat mixed - look at Yelp where reviews seem to be either poor/mediocre or excellent with not a lot in-between. I'm searching for these dates again this afternoon and am seeing a different 4* in the Mag Mile-WT area for $150 w/Boutique, Restaurant, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Laundry, Blind Accessible, Deaf Accessible, Travel Accessible, Room Accessible, Bathroom Accessible, Roll-in Shower. -- This amenity set has been seen previously with the Knickerbocker. thereuare
We can keep the thread here... once you win a hotel use the 'ADD REPLY and REPORT WIN' button on the lower right corner of the page to provide the details of your win and the entire thread will automatically be moved (if necessary) to the correct section of the board. I'll add that i'm seeing what i think to be the Hotel Felix Chicago for $135/nite on PRICELINE EXPRESS, should this be of any interest.
