AaronJB
Please provide a follow-up for your prior Key West Priceline thread (post what you decided for that stay within that thread, then reply to this thread and we would be happy to take a look and try to ID the above listings.) Gyro123
Sorry for not providing follow up sooner on Key West thread. Just updated. Any help/insight you can offer here would be most appreciated. Thanks Link to comment
yellowdog
I believe there may have been more amenities than you listed in your post. HOTWIRE has a new interface which is not currently showing the complete set of amenities at the usual point of the search process. Please run a new search using our BiddingHelper.com tool at the top of this page. Once the search is completed, use the EASY VIEW TAB and click the GREEN BUTTON next to this listing to view the complete set of amenities. This is what I see when replicating your search,Pet FriendlyIndoor PoolSmoke FreeFitnessPoolRestaurantBusinessLaundryHi-Speed InternetSpaBlind AccessibleDeaf AccessibleTravel AccessibleRoom AccessibleBathroom AccessibleHandicapped ParkingRoll-in Shower...If this is what you see would my guess be Sheraton Centre Toronto Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Gyro123
Thanks for the insight. I guessed the Sheraton as well. Any idea or guesses as to what the hotel on PRICELINE EXPRESS deals might be? How do you think the prices listed for these rooms would compare to what I could find for a Four star hotel in same area via bidding process. Thanks again Link to comment
thereuare
Best guess for the PRICELINE EXPRESS offer would also be the Sheraton... although an outside chance of the Hyatt Regency Toronto. Bidding on PRICELINE is usually slightly less expensive than PRICELINE EXPRESS, if you wish to bid on PRICELINE (for any hotel in the zone at the star rating you choose or higher) let us know your maximum bid and we will suggest a strategy for you to follow. Gyro123
Ok thanks for the input. I think i am going to go with the bidding route. I am hoping to land something for around $100-$110 a night for 9/17-9/21Do you think that is doable? Looking for a four star or better hotel and something with an indoor pool if at all possible. Any insight would be most appreciated. Link to comment
AaronJB
There is no way to guarantee an amenity such as pool if pool is not showing as a guaranteed amenity. Would it be worth a bit more to guarantee a pool via a PRICELINE EXPRESS Deal? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there. Link to comment

yellowdog
No one can say for certain until you try but I think your budget looks doable/in the ballpark. Are you ready to bid now and would you like a bidding strategy for a 4* property in the Entertainment & Financial Districts with a max of $110 + tax/fee's? (are any other zones acceptable?) thereuare
You can bid much better then you have been... are you willing to bid up to $110/nite at this point in time? Gyro123
Yellow dog,Yes ready to bid now. And yes would you like a bidding strategy for a 4* property in the Entertainment & Financial Districts with a max of $110. Really would like to stay in this zone as I have a small children's it's close to attractions, etc. Link to comment
thereuare
Do note that PRICELINE only guarantees double occupancy, after that it's at the discretion of the hotel, and you could receive a room with only one bed. While you can call the hotel you win and request a room with two beds, the hotel may not be able, or willing, to honor your request. If you're OK with the above you can try as follows... When bidding 4* in Toronto you have ELEVEN re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding. Select 4* Downtown Entertainment District... Bid $83, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $85, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $88, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $93, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $95, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $98, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $103, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $105, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $108, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $110 Any questions feel free to ask (especially confirming your re-bid zones if you're unsure or new to the subject) Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Gyro123
I understand concept of rebid zones, etcDoes anyone know the "safe" rebid zones for Toronto though? Link to comment
thereuare
You need to know how to check your re-bid zones on your own as they should be checked before you start every bidding cycle to make sure nothing has changed since you last checked... or you could end up in a location you didn't intend. If you've read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and are still confused or unsure how to proceed, try this: 1) Use the PRICELINE search box on the upper right of this page, enter your city and dates, and click "GO". 2) List each zone that is offered in this region. 3) Next to each zone list the highest star rating offered in the zone. The way to determine the highest star rating offered in the zone is by selecting the first zone i the list, then scrolling down to see the highest star rating selectable (ie- not greyed out). NEXT UNcheck the selected zone, place a checkmark in the next zone, and repeat the process for each zone in the region. Each time you take note of the highest star rating in the zone, make sure that only ONE zone is selected above. 4) post your findings and we'll take it from there If you don't follow the above just post back and we'll break it down further. Gyro123
Just wanted to update I bid up to $90 for 5, 4.5. and 4 Star properties in this area. Have been flat out rejected each time with no counter offer, etc. Is there a better day, time of day, etc. to bid? Do you feel pricing will go up or down as date draws closer? Thanks Link to comment
thereuare
... a max of $110. With a maximum bid of $110/nite... why stop your bidding at $90?? Knowing how to determine, and utilizing, your re-bid zones would be much more beneficial to your potential success then what time of day you place your bids. AaronJB
Unfortunately, I think $110 may not be enough but I don't think you're far off and would proceed higher slowly.
