Priceline Hotel: Help Bidding 10/2 - 10/5

I will be traveling to Vegas with my wife on October 2nd through the 5th. I've never priceline bid before, but we would really like a 5 start property on the strip somewhere. It doesn't need to have a casino or anything like that. Any help as to where to start with bidding would be great, Thank you!

Please start by following-up your previous Priceline San Francisco thread with whatever you decided to do for that trip, then reply here and we will have a look at and comment on your post above.

Please remember to follow-up your threads with your wins/decisions as you make them (even if you don't ultimately use PRICELINE / HOTWIRE, cancel the trip, book direct, etc) as this help keep the board better organized and more useful for everyone... as well as being a courtesy to anyone who took the time to help with your travel plans.

Please provide the additional information requested in our subsequent reply to your Hotwire San Francisco thread so that win will properly appear in the Priceline and Hotwire Calendar of Wins.

For Vegas, would something like The Trump be acceptable? (which is in the Strip North zone but located slightly off-strip)

The Trump would be acceptable. However, not preferably

Ultimately it comes down to your budget...

What is likely the Trump can be had for $126/nite thru PRICELINE EXPRESS... or a casino 5* hotel for $132/nite (i'm guessing The Venetian).

On the other hand you could try bidding on PRICELINE, and although we will start lower, my guess is that you'll likely land something in the $110/nite area, and odds favor The Trump as a likely results.

So would it be worth an extra ~$15/nite to stay at the (guessed) Venetian vs. the (guessed) Trump? (or is the extra $15 worth the better located property directly on The Strip?)

If you have more than 2 people per room, I would suggest HOTWIRE and searching for the amount of people in the party.

If you have a specific listing of interest on HOTWIRE after searching for 6, please let us know the zone, amenities (all, including accessible), price and star rating, etc. and we will have a closer look at the offer.

You can also give PRICELINE EXPRESS a search to see if there are any offers that show a 'Bed Choice' and if one of the choices indicates a room that has two beds (or some other room configuration that will work for the needs of your group).

Thank you, one more questions if bidding what do you think price wise I could get on the south side of the strip. Bidding help would also be great. Just weighing all my options.

Would the risk of one bed be acceptable? What star rating would you want to bid for if so?

If one bed and the Trump are still acceptable then a 5* can be had for about $125 or less... if you prefer a 5* casino (still with the possibility of only one bed) then you're looking at another $10 or so.

Is the above within your budget? (personally i think the extra $10 is worth the better strip location, but ultimately it depends upon your needs for this trip)
