Priceline Hotel: Las Vegas Strip Help

I am trying to book a hotel in vegas from 7/21-7/27.  I would like to stay on or near the strip.  Im trying to stay under $60 + resort fee a night.  Any advice on the best possible hotel/casino I can get for this?  If I am staying off the strip I was hoping to either stay at the Palms or Hard Rock.

I was also looking PRICELINE EXPRESS deals and I see there is a 4 star deal for west of the strip for $69 a night.  I have a 10% off discount so this would be close to 60.  However, Im unsure if this would be The Palms or Rio.  Any guesses?

Im a late 20's male so Im trying to find a good hotel/casino with a solid pool and good nightlife/girls :).  Hence my trying to get the Palms or Hard Rock.  Any advice for better/cheaper hotels on the strip that fit this criteria would be great.

Thanks for the help!

Please provide follow-ups for your prior Dallas Hotwire thread (post what you decided for that stay within that thread, then reply to this thread.)

For the above stay, please provide the full details (amenities, star rating, price per night before taxes/fees, zone) if you would like us to ID a listing.

Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases.

The dates for the PRICELINE EXPRESS deal are July 20-27, the star rating is 4 star and the price is 63 a night.  The amenities include Pets, Free Parking, Business Center, Restaurant, Pool, Casino, and Fitness Center.  Im hoping this is the Palms and not Rio.

Im also hoping someone can provide some recommendations on if this is the best property I can get for roughly 60 a night on or near the strip for a late 20's male who's looking for a good pool and good nightlife/girls.

Thanks for the help!

I'm sorry t o say that I believe this is the Rio.

If you want to hotel with a younger crowd is Hard Rock a good choice. I also think that 4* Sls Resort (Strip North) would fit you.

And I would choose Palms before Rio if party is the goal.

Keep us updated on your progress and let us know what you ultimately decide or if we can be of further help.

Thanks for the info yellowdog! I just wasn't sure if it was Rio because Rio isn't listed on the PRICELINE EXPRESS Deals list here on better bidding, only the Palms.

Can anyone else confirm this is indeed Rio?

As far as the 4 star strip north, is this for sure SLS? I also see Treasure Island listed as a possibility on the list here on BetterBidding.

Thanks again for the help!

I was answering your question for a suitable hotel with a younger vibe. I haven't looked at the offer for the Strip North zone.

EDIT: But I do believe it's the TI that's currently listed listed for the PRICELINE EXPRESS deal in the Strip North zone.

What is it that you're most interested in... SLS, Treasure Island, something else?

Please list the full details (amenities and room rate per nite) of any HOTWIRE or PRICELINE EXPRESS offers that are within your budget.

I'm not really sure what hotel exactly. I just know I would like to stay close to $60 a night + the resort fee and I have a 10% off PRICELINE EXPRESS deals.

I'm basically looking for the best hotel possible for that price, hopefully with a great pool and good nightlife and women (I'm late 20's male).

If I'm going to be off the strip I was hoping for either The Palms or Hard Rock but I'm not sure if I can get a PRICELINE EXPRESS deal for them for cheap enough. I'm also fine with naming my own price if I can be fairly certain I will win a specific hotel (obviously I know, no guarantees).

So we're asking, of the hotels above, for your needs, which is the 'best one'? If we know your preference(s) we then know where to start looking. ;)

I'll also add that the Golden Nugget is likely available within your budget... not on the strip, and i don't know the scene these days, but they did renovate their pool a few years back and now includes a shark tank.

Let us know your hotel preference and we'll begin to see what is available.

I definitely want to stay on or near the strip so downtown is out.  My hotel preferences are probably something along these lines.

1.  Hard Rock

2.  Palms

3.  MGM Grand

4.  Encore/Wynn

5.  Planet Hollywood

I honestly don't know if any of those are even close to the price range Im wanting.  The top choice would be Cosmo but I know thats out of the equation.

I was really asking for advice from those that might be familiar with the vegas strip hotels and could recommend one that is within my price range that is close to what Im looking for as Im not really familiar with them all.

Unfortunately, the Cosmo/Wynn/Encore are not going to be realistic within a $60 or less budget and while you do have options at $60, they may not be exactly what you're looking for.

I see what appears to be the Hard Rock on Hot.wire (4* East of Strip, Casino, Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Free Internet, Hi-Speed Internet, Laundry, Spa, Free Parking, Blind Accessible, Travel Accessible, Room Accessible, Bathroom Accessible, Handicapped Parking) but for $92.

I'm a member, not a moderator, but I've read through the discussion here and this is what I think I'd do at your age and budget.

Up above is "Bidding.Helper".  I'd click in there.

Then split my stay into two 3-night stays.  For the first 7/21-7/24 it is mid-week so things are less expensive.  Right now I can actually see a Hot.wire 4* on the strip at your budget.  I'd grab it.  Live it up.

Then I'd move on to the more expensive 7/24-7/27.  Here I'd either pick the best Hot.wire deal within budget I could see, or the best PRICELINE EXPRESS I could see that was within budget (including that discount you have).  I'd have to drop down in star level, and maybe do the "near strip" areas, but it still is Las Vegas and it would let me explore another area.

For that matter, you could actually just book the first three nights, then after you are there and better know the area you could book the other three.  I might have done that more risky approach at your age.

To help you see the geography and your options better, it really would be worth your time to try that MAPS and HOTELS.com.  There are links in several of your responses, or you can find it up in the Tool Box in the header.  Enter Las Vegas and the desired dates, but change the "radius" to just one mile.  Then zoom in on the map that appears.  And use the little slider bar on the left to move down to a comfortable budget range and uncluttered things.  The rates are higher than you will be able to do with Hot.wire and PRICELINE EXPRESS as they are direct purchase of a specific hotel (no taking a chance as to which one you'll get), but it is a great tool for an overview.  Try your full range of dates, and then take a look at just the first three to see how the rates are much lower.

As suggested above, is SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID an option?

Sorry for the delayed response. Yes splitting up my trip is definitely an option and sounds like probably the best choice. I will look into that further. Ideally it'd be great to get The Hard Rock for the first half of the stay and then the back half doesn't matter quite as much as log as the room is still somewhat nice. The back half of the trip I have to do some business so I won't be able to go out as much as the first 4 days anyway.

The Hard Rock is a 4* East of Strip on Hot.wire, and a 4* Near Strip East on PRICELINE EXPRESS.

In the Hotel Lists there is a note on PL Experss that it charges an additional $22 Resort Fee.  Undoubtedly it will be the same for Hot.wire.  However, the number might not be current, so consider it a minimum.

You can experiment a bit with 3/3 and 4/2 splits on PE and HW to see what shows up and what might work best for you.  Your night #4 being a Friday, it may make a difference.

Is the Hard Rock the only 4* available in those 2 zones on Hot.wire and PRICELINE EXPRESS.  Looking at the lists here on better bidding it shows a couple other possibilities.  Or do you know it is the Hard Rock based on the amenities listed?  Just curious, cause if it isn't for sure the Hard Rock, then Im just going to select something on the strip, even if it isn't the ideal hotel.

Thanks

I can say if Romelle did an actual search for Hard Rock or just posted information about it.

But let us know how you're willing to split your stay and we'll have a look at this.

And please post the details for the HOTWIRE or PRICELINE EXPRESS offer you look at.

I didn't do any research as to what the hotel offers might be.  I just posted the Hard Rock zones as information for you.

If you want an educated guess from the experts here (I'm not one of them), you can post the details of an offer - date, zone, price, number of adults/children used in your search, and all amenities.  The best way to pick up all the amenity information is using the Bidding.Helper.com tool at the top of this page.  Once the search is completed, use the EASY VIEW TAB and click the GREEN BUTTON next to this listing to view the complete set of amenities.  It is a good guess, but never an absolute.

Sorry for the confusion.
