tal1115
I am trying to identify a 4 star hotel in Hoboken - North Bergen area. The regular price is $229 for 7/11/15 through 7/13/15, for 1 adult and 2 children.Hotel amenities include: business center, internet access, smoke free rooms, fitness center, pool(s), indoor pool(s), restaurant(s), accessible for visually impaired, accessible for hearing impaired. This is on Hotwire. On Priceline the 4 star for that area does not offer a pool. Can you help? Link to comment
AaronJB
I believe there are more amenities then what you have posted above as HOT.WIRE has a new interface that does not show the complete set of amenities unless you click thru a few extra links. If you repeat your search using our BiddingHelper.com.com tool... use the HOTWIRE EASY VIEW tab and then click the GREEN BUTTON next to this listing, do you see more amenities then what you have listed above? If you see: Restaurant, Pool, Indoor Pool, Fitness, Smoke Free, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Blind Accessible, Deaf Accessible, Travel Accessible, Room Accessible, Bathroom Accessible, Handicapped Parking My guess is the Sheraton Suites Lincoln Harbor Please keep us updated with what you decide and let us know if you have additional questions. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Link to comment
thereuare
I've moved your thread to the correct section of the board NEW JERSEY >> HOTWIRE. What is the room rate of the offer above? I'm also seeing a 4* in Jersey City for $120/nite that i believe to be the Westin Jersey City, and depending upon your needs (and the age of your kids) would likely be a better choice... there is an indoor pool for this offer as well, but also a very nice park nearby on the Hudson River that could occupy the kids for any downtime you're looking to fill (depending upon their ages), as well as a shopping mall, supermarket, and a few restaurants nearby. You would also be commuting to the city via PATH train (vs. the bus if you were staying at the Sheraton Lincoln Harbor) I'm local to this area and can probably answer just about any questions you have. What is the purpose of this trip... do you need to be in this area OR are you looking for a less expensive option to staying directly in Manhattan? Do you need a pool for this stay (or is this more of a want than a need)? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. tal1115
Thanks for your help. The trip is for myself, my daughter(age 16) and her best friend (age 15). We want to see Manhattan and see a Broadway show. I am looking for a less expensive place to stay. Money is tight and my daughter(God bless her) got a job and is paying for a good portion of the trip. They also want to see the ocean before we head back to Ohio on Mon. the 13th. I was in NYC once about 33 years ago with my husband who was stationed on an island there for Coast Guard training. I am petrified to drive into NY. but want to spend this time with my daughter. The pool would be great but not necessary. Link to comment
thereuare
The kids are probably too old for the nearby park. :) What is the room rate per nite of the Hoboken-North Bergen hotel? tal1115
Since you do live in the area maybe you can help me. I am finding it difficult to understand the transit system. How expensive will it be and how do I do it.. If we stay at the Westin and want to get to the Belasgo theatre on Sunday, July 12th? I would like to look like I know a little bit about what I am doing but my daughter would know better. I could get lost in my own back yard! Please advise. Link to comment
tal1115
The price for the hotel in Hoboken is $123. thereuare
Best guess for the HOTWIRE offer above would be the previously guessed Sheraton Suites Lincoln Harbor. From the Sheraton you would commute to Manhattan via bus to the Port Authority (bus goes thru the Lincoln Tunnel and drops you off at 42nd St and Eight Ave). Bus fare is currently $3.20 From the Westin (or W Hoboken or Hyatt on the Hudson) you would commute by PATH train which goes to mutliple stops (one lines goes to Downtown/Financial District... the other makes multiple stops along Sixth Ave (from 9th St to 33rd St) Current fare is $2.75 Once in Manhattan you will use the subway (or bus) which is $2.75 per trip regardless of the distance traveled. For the subway you need a metrocard which costs $1 for the card itself (although you can keep re-filling the same card so you don't need to keep buying $1 cards). This card can also be used for the PATH (but a PATH-only card can't be used on the subway). The fare is deducted from the balance on your card each time you take a trip. Keep in mind that you'll be paying for parking in both of these areas, although there is some free parking on the street nearby the Westin during the weekend until 6am/7am (i forget which) Monday morning. Taking the bus from the Sheraton Lincoln Harbor to the Port Authority would get you closer to the theater (than the PATH to 33rd St and Sixth Ave), but the Westin is a newer/nicer hotel with a bit more to do in the immediate area. As well, part of traveling (for me at least) is doing things you don't (or can't) necessarily do in your home town... you may have public buses that will take you from PointA-->PointB, but you probably don't have a subway (that goes under a river no less) in your home town, so taking the PATH into the city provides a bit more of a 'NYC experience'... although if you felt that proximity to the theater was more important the Sheraton should work out just fine as well (although as per my next comment i would favor the Westin) Given the two are virtually the same price, i would sooner take what i believe to be the Westin in Jersey City on HOTWIRE for $122/nite (your price can differ by a few dollars). Amenities: Pet Friendly Indoor Pool Smoke Free Fitness Pool Restaurant Business Hi-Speed Internet Tennis Blind Accessible Deaf Accessible Room Accessible Wheelchair Accessible Bathroom Accessible Handicapped Parking Roll-in Shower Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. tal1115
May I just say Wow and thank-you! I do agree with you that the PATH would be more interesting. Where we live is in a small country town. There are no buses or taxis. Anything we experience in NYC or NJ will be new and exciting! Can hardly wait! I will definitely use this site to book and let you know where we end up. Link to comment
Romelle
CLICK HERE for all sorts of good information on PATH. It is an easy about 20 minute ride. AND CLICK HERE for a nice write-up on Hoboken. You will find it totally different from NYC. Romelle Link to comment

yellowdog
You have a current Hotwire Hoboken thread running. Is this for the same dates? Please post the star rating for the hotel you're looking at. tal1115
yes, it is for the same dates. Found out we may have a bit less money to work with, so looking to save a bit more on the hotel. It 's a 3 star rating. Thanks Link to comment
tal1115
I have been trying to figure this out and the best I can come up with is CLARION HOTEL EMPIRE MEADOWLANDS HOTEL2 Harmon Plaza, Secaucus, NJ, 07094. It all seems to fit except they don't mention an indoor pool. Not sure if it's the one. Link to comment
thereuare
Please keep all posts for the same stay in the same thread. Once you win a hotel, use the 'ADD REPLY and REPORT WIN' button on the lower right corner of the page to edit the topic title to reflect your win and to provide the details of your purchase. This helps keep the board better organized by reducing the number of unresolved threads that don't have any follow-up or conclusion. I believe there are more amenities then what you have posted above as HOTWIRE has a new interface that does not show the complete set of amenities unless you click thru a few extra links. If you repeat your search using our BiddingHelper.com tool... use the HOTWIRE EASY VIEW tab and then click the GREEN BUTTON next to this listing, do you see more amenities then what you have listed above? Using this method, below is the full list of amenities i'm seeing for the 3 star hotel in this zone when searching for your dates: Free Parking Free Internet Indoor Pool Fitness Pool Restaurant Business Laundry Hi-Speed Internet Blind Accessible Deaf Accessible Travel Accessible Room Accessible Bathroom Accessible Handicapped Parking Roll-in Shower ... if this is what you're seeing, i don't believe the Clarion has an Indoor Pool, so unless the Indoor Pool is a mistake by HOTWIRE, then by guess for this one would be the Courtyard by Marriott Meadowlands/Lyndhurst. Assuming this guess is correct,tTravel to/from NYC from this area would be by bus (about $4.50/pp each way) which is near the hotel OR you could drive to the nearby Park N Ride and take the bus from there. There is not much walkable in the immediate area of this hotel (a deli restaurant inside one of the hotels and a Medieval Times theatre/restaurant) Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board. Let us know what you decide or how we can be of further help. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
