Hi everyone, I want to share my winning bid

Bid          Santa Monica 4 stars Hotel      $195 failed

Added     Culver City                               $200 failed

Added     LAX East                                  $205 failed

Added     Lynwood                                  $210 failed

Added     El Segundo                              $215 got Oceana Beach Club Hotel

Somehow, things are a little bit complicated than I thought.

Never had this situation before, and I hope that someone's got an answer for me.

Deal Type: Name Your Own Price
Room Price: $215.00 /room night
Rooms: 1
Nights: 4
Room Subtotal: $791.84
Hotel Fee: $140.16 Paid at the Hotel
Hotel Fee Credit: $-68.16
Taxes & Fees: $168.28
Total Charged Today: $960.12
Total Cost: $1,100.28

I understand that I got this hotel through Priceline Name your Own Price System and the hotel charges "Hotel Fee"

Instead of compensating me 140.16, Priceline only gave me 68.16 back.

Is there anyone that knows how "Hotel Fee Credit"  "$-68.16"  is calculated?

Or it's simply up to Priceline? They give, you take, and don't ask ?

Generally, I'm quite satisfied with my winning bid, but still seeking the answers for the questions above.

BTW, I used the PRICELINE link to start bidding for sure.

Congratulations on your success!

Glad to see you're happy with the results and looking forward to your stay.

I have never seen the Hotel Fee Credit listed before, but playing around with some numbers i think everything is correct. When you submitted your bid this is was the price summary:

Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: US$ 215.00

Subtotal: US$ 860.00

Taxes and Service Fees: US$ 168.28

Total Room Charges*: US$ 1,028.28

Hotel Fee: US$ 72.00

Total Cost*: US$ 1,100.28

==> PRICELINE was letting you know that the maximum hotel fee (that you would pay directly to the hotel) would be $72 (total for the stay)

From your numbers above:

Room Subtotal: $791.84

Taxes & Fees: $168.28

Total Charged Today: $960.12

==> the above adds up correctly: (the room subtotal plus taxes/fees equals the amount you were charged today)

This leaves the other line items (amount to be paid directly to the hotel):

Hotel Fee: $140.16 Paid at the Hotel

Hotel Fee Credit: $-68.16

==> if you take the $140.16 and subtract the credit of $68.16, it equals $72 (which is the maximum that PRICELINE stated that you would need to pay directly to the hotel). My guess is that this line is more so for the hotel's accounting system and i would expect to pay $72 total 'resort fee' directly to the hotel for this stay... if you're charged more than this i would try to bring it up to PRICELINE's attention upon your return since the maximum indicated when you pleased your bid was $72.

Does the above make sense/clearer?
