Can someone please help me ID this property?

Does anyone see any other good deals for 4 or 5 star properties on either priceline or hotwire  for those dates in this area or other centrally located areas in the city?

These amenities are fairly common, but the Monaco has been seen with them previously so that would be my guess. If you did get the Monaco, that would be a terrific result. Not seeing a lot else - what appears to be the Hyatt Mag Mile (on St Clair) is showing for $168 on Hot.wire, but I'd rather the potential Monaco.

 

I am seeing a 4* in the Loop on Hot.wire for $159 (you may see a slightly different rate) w/Restaurant, Fitness, Free Internet, Hi-Speed Internet, Spa. 

-- That would be a possible match for the Virgin Hotel. If that was the Virgin, would be of interest from the standpoint of location and that it's a pretty new property.

Well either Monaco or Virgin would be amazing.  I have read the reviews on HOTWIRE for the 4 star property in the loop that you mentioned and the description definitely sounds like Virgin Hotels.  Meanwhile if I select either of these what are the chances it is not Virgin or Monaco and if it isn't what other hotel could it possibly be.  Meanwhile I'm amicable to the idea of staying anywhere from grant park to lincoln park.  So if there is any other potential attractive properties please let me know.  Thanks again for your help, Ill let you know what happens.

In terms of the above listings, my guesses would remain the same as those properties have been reported to the board with those amenities previously. With Hot.wire and Price.line there's always the risk it could be something else. Things change all the time, amenities hotels are associated with change, star ratings change, etc (new hotels are reported all the time.) Additionally, the listings available for your dates can change at any time.

 

There are some fine hotels for your date/s. The Hyatt Mag Mile (on St Clair) is $168 on Hot.wire (you may see a slightly different price.) I'd rather the Virgin (which only opened a few months back, so fresh, well-reviewed hotel) or potential Monaco.

 

I see the Hotel Chicago for about the same price. I'd rather the Virgin or Monaco.

 

The Hotel Lincoln is showing for $148, although that's all the way up in Lincoln Park. If you want something different, that's certainly a nice area but keep in mind that it's a trek to get downtown (either walking to the Fullerton "L" station or taking a bus or walking South to Clark/Division and taking the Red Line there (although if you are at that point you're a few minutes walk from the top end of the NMA area.) So, not something I'd recommend if you're looking to be centrally located, but if you're looking for a different experience, Lincoln Park is a very nice area - it's just not terribly convenient to the city as a whole.

 

Still seeing a 4* in the Loop on Hot.wire for $159 w/Restaurant, Fitness, Free Internet, Hi-Speed Internet, Spa

-- Likely the Virgin.The potential Virgin is a block or two away from the Monaco, so not much difference in location.

 

I see what appears to be the Godfrey for $191. Really liked my stay there, but there is a real risk of noise if you get a room on a lower floor as there's a club/bar on the 4th. Again though, it goes back to when there's something really nice for cheaper, why not that over this.

 

So, there is always the chance that the Virgin/Monaco listings could be something else, but those hotels have been previously reported with those amenities.

 

There are a number of other nice options for these dates - for example, the Hyatt Mag Mile - but I'd rather the Monaco or potential Virgin for the same price or slightly cheaper. The reason why I wouldn't go with the Monaco or Virgin is if you wanted to stay on Michigan Ave.

Bummer there is no more Monaco or virgin hotels. It seems to me like Swiss hotel is the best value. I'm surprised that it's rated 4.5 stars though. I've never stayed at the Swiss is it a good hotel? Is it better than the Hyatt regency which is next door? Thanks.. If anything else interesting pops up today please let me know.

I'd go with the Swiss over the Hyatt next door. The Swiss for around $125 (you may see +/- a few bucks) is a good value as hotels go for these dates and the location is terrific.

You're not seeing a 4.5* in the MP-GP- area on HOTWIRE w/Boutique, Restaurant, Pool, Indoor Pool, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Laundry, Tennis, Spa, Blind Accessible, Deaf Accessible, Travel Accessible, Room Accessible, Bathroom Accessible, Roll-in Shower?

 

That would be a possible match for the the Swiss.

 

There's a 4.5* in the Mag Mile N-WT area for $150 w/Boutique, Restaurant, Smoke Free, Hi-Speed Internet. That hasn't been ID'd/reported to the board, but a guess would be the Ivy with a slightly different amenity set vs when it was last reported to the board (Ivy used to offer free internet apparently, but now I see a very small charge for it listed.)

As nice an area as the Gold Coast is, the Ivy would be a very nice result in a much more central location. Any which way, the property in question gets a 4.5/5 tripadvisor rating.

We ended up staying at the Westin River North on points.  

I love those westin beds.
