sergeigrey1
Hi I checked the existing forum information and I cannot find anything about this hotel already on betterbidding's site.I would be grateful if you could help me to identify this London Hammersmith 4 stars hotel, which I found using the Hotwire link on betterbiding's main page. I looked for a room for 2 adults and 2 children between 21 July 2015 and 23 July 2015 Price: $130 per night (down from $205)Hotel rating: 4 starsAmenities: Free Internet Pet friendly Smoke-free rooms Fitness center Restaurant(s) Business centerTripadvisor rating: 3.5 out of 5Hotwire customer reviews: 90% recommended (12 reviews) Thank you for your help sergeigrey1 Link to comment
AaronJB
I believe there are more amenities then what you have posted above as HOTWIRE has a new interface that does not show the complete set of amenities unless you click thru a few extra links. If you repeat your search using our Bidding.Helper.com tool... use the HOTWIRE EASY VIEW tab and then click the GREEN BUTTON next to this listing, do you see more amenities then what you have listed above? If you see: Restaurant, Fitness, Smoke Free, Free Internet, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Deaf Accessible, Travel Accessible, Room Accessible, Bathroom Accessible, Handicapped Parking, Pet Friendly -- This listing has not yet been ID'd/reported to the board. I'd GUESS this may be the Novotel London West with a slightly different amenity set. Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches. Link to comment
sergeigrey1
Hi Thank you for your prompt reply. I have used Betterbidding's bidding.Helper tool (missed that last time) as advised and, as you suggested, the list of amenities for this London Hammersmith 4 star hotel came up: Free Internet, Pet friendly, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking There is, however, a slight price difference as per Hotwire's website (through Betterbidding link). Hotwire lists the cost at $130 per night, and Hotwire Easy View (via BetterbiddingHelper) states $128. I would be grateful if you could confirm your guess - as far as you can, of course Regards sergeigrey Link to comment
sergeigrey1
Hi Further to my previous message - I have just tried to go all the way and see the final cost for the specified room in this hotel. Just before making a payment, the total price changes from $260 (as stated on Hotwire's search page) to $330. The website adds "Tax recovery charges + fees" in the amount of $70.50, which effectively brings the price for room to $165 per room, 27% higher than the price of $130 originally stated on Hotwire's search page. If your guess about this secret hotel being, in fact, Novotel London West is correct, than I am not certain if using Hotwire actually gives me any benefit in buying this room. If I use Novotel's website and buy this room directly for the specified dates, then the costs are: US$395.16 - with UK spring offer currently available on Novotel's website, which includes free breakfasts for two adults, at £15 per adult, £60 in total for two days - or $94.34 included in the price of US$395.16 - or $300.82 without breakfast (to make this comparable to Hotwire's rate) If I buy indirectly from Hotwire, I would pay for the same room (NO breakfast included) $330, I am seriously wondering if there are any advantages of using Hotwire in this case - unless the guess about this hotel is incorrect? thereuare
If you do decide to book direct, please use the board's link to Novotel (also found in our Support Page) Sounds like it comes down to whether or not you want breakfast in the hotel.. you can likely find breakfast in London for less than $65 over the course of the two days that you are there (sometimes a nice cup of coffee and a fresh based roll at a local bakery makes a good breakfast at a 'local' place); any amount you spend on breakfast under $65 would be savings in your pocket. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. sergeigrey1
Hi Thank you for your advice and helping in identifying this Hammersmith hotel. With all things considered, I feel that Hot.wire simply does not offer me a good deal on this hotel on this occasion. I will not use Hot.wire this time. Regards sergeigrey1 Link to comment
