Priceline Hotel: 2.5* Buffalo - Niagara Falls (Buffalo East - Cheektowaga) Best Western Plus Galleria Inn and Suites

Hi,

I'm visiting Niagara Falls/Buffalo and looking to find a hotel in the Buffalo area or anywhere nearby, staying on the US side.

I'm open to either weekend 5-22/5-26 or 5-29/6-2, basing it entirely on hotel cost.

One concern is that I want parking and breakfast included.  Given this, should I bid or do I need to do an already determined hotel due to not being able to confirm the amenities prior to bidding?

If bidding is an option, how do I determine the amenities?  I've looked at the hotel lists and some have those features in the area and some do not.  As I can't pick my hotel, not sure what to do.

I would like 2.5 stars or up.

I would like to pay $50-$75/night, cheaper the better within the range.

I am open to Price.line or Hot.wire but did not post in the Hot.wire section, as well.   Should I post there separately?

I appreciate any tips or suggestions.  I plan to bid/choose tomorrow.

Thank you,

Amy

Please keep all posts in the same thread since posts are for the same stay.

it don't sound like PRICELINE is the route for you since you can't bid on or avoid a specific hotel when using PRICELINE You have to be able to accept any hotel in the zone at the star rating (or higher) you select.

You can check on HOTWIRE or with PRICELINE EXPRESS, they have some of the key amenities listed. And we would be happy to try to ID the hotel for you. And you can also compare the price for the different sets of weekends.

If you're trying to target a specific property then HOT.WIRE can often be a better option if you're successfully able to identify it based upon the star rating and amenities shown before your purchase... the trade-off is that HOT.WIRE usually costs a little more than PRICE.LINE, so you need to decide what is most important to you for a given stay, the lowest possible price OR the ability to take an educated guess as to the property you may receive.

Let us know your thoughts and well go from there

My first choice would be a hotel with parking and breakfast.  If these are not available but the rates are low enough, I am open to Price.line where I do not pick my hotel.  So I suppose that being said, price is more important.  If it is low enough, I can pay for parking, if necessary.

I'd begin as follows...

Use our BiddingHelper.com and search for both sets of dates, using the 'HOTWIRE' and 'PRICELINE EXPRESS' tabs...

1) do you see anything within your desired budget and zones that offers both free breakfast and free parking

2) what is the best offer you're able to find regardless of free breakfast/parking

With the above you can then decide if the rate of any free parking and/or free breakfast offers is worth taking... OR if you should first try bidding on PRICELINE for a lower rate for any hotel (which may or may not offer free breakfast/parking)

Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases.

Let us know what you find and we'll take it from there.

Decided to go with 5-29/6-2 weekend. I've listed my top choice first.

Priceline

100 - 3stars, West Seneca - breakfast/parking

77 - 3 stars, BUF - parking

Hotwire

95- 3 stars, West Seneca - breakfast/parking

74- 3 stars, downtown BUF

76- 3 stars, BUF

Ok, I've updated my list a bit my order of preference,  I'd prefer 2.5 stars and breakfast/parking vs 3 stars without breakfast/parking.

Priceline

3 stars, $100, West Seneca  --> when I look at the hotel list, there is only a 2.5 star hotel listed for West Seneca

2.5 stars, 76, 78, 90 - BUF East, BUF Airport, West Seneca

Hotwire

3 stars, $95, West Seneca

2.5 stars, $83, BUF East

I'm not sure if we're on the same page...

Do any of the HOTWIRE or PRICELINE EXPRESS offers in the zone(s) you're willing to accept, and within your budget, show both Free Parking and Free Breakfast? If so, please list the star rating, zone, room rate per nite, and full list of amenities associated with the offer(s) that meet this criteria.

Sorry if I wasn't clear.

I found 2 locations on Price.line that met my criteria. BUF East and West Seneca. I bid through your PRICELINE links repeatedly for 2.5 and 3 stars starting at $35 and going in $5 increments until $70. I won the 2.5 star for $70, only a $6 savings from PRICELINE EXPRESS price. Better than nothing I suppose and it has both my required amenities.

Thanks for your help.

Thanks for the follow-up!

While perhaps not your first choice in the zone, glad to see you're pleased with the outcome for the price paid and this will work well for your needs.

Have a great trip, and thanks again for using the board's PRICELINE link for your bidding.
