Hotel90 Posted April 3, 2015 Report Share Posted April 3, 2015 Hi, I am planning to get a hotel for 2 at MTE, MTW and Theater District. My budget is about 150 usd per night excluding taxes and fees. Is it possible for me to get a 3* and above hotel with my budget? If not, any recommendation areas to stay as i plan to do a lot of walking and easy access for public transportation is important. If not, i would try to stay more midtown. Below i have listed the midtown zones and comments next to each where they may be a known 'issue' and you can decide if you're willing to bid the zone or not: MTE - most hotels are well located, but a few can be up to a 15 minute walk to the subway MTW - no known issues/caveats to report TS - no known issues/caveats to report CPS - contains the Hudson Hotel, which while well located, has notoriously small rooms ESB - no known issues/caveats to report MSG - no known issues/caveats to report Chelsea - a few hotels can be up to a 10 minute walk to the subway, but this is a 'hot' area with lots of bars, cafes, restaurants, boutiques, etc. so it's still generally considered to be a very desirable zone PRICELINE EXPRESS has this 3 star ESB hotel (confirm your dates on the landing page) that appears to be the Nh Jolly Hotel Madison Towers for $156/nite. You could either take this offer (assuming this hotel is acceptable) or try bidding up to your $150 limit on PRICELINE for any of the zone(s) above you find to be acceptable. I do not have any specific plans, but i will definitely walk around the city and visit those tourist spots. My preferable zones are MTE, MTW, TD and ESB. Link to comment
