esin
4* San Diego Carlsbad for July 1-4, 2015, entered bids up to $158 still no luck. Priceline Express listed as $177I am willing to go down to 3.5* San Diego Carlsbad, any suggestion of winning bids? Link to comment
AaronJB
Welcome to Betterbidding. :)What would be your desired max bid per night for this stay? If there's a 4* PRICELINE EXPRESS in the zone for $177 and you've bid up to $158, you're really likely not far off - probably $162-168ish is what I'd guess is required. Thank you for sharing your win and please use the site's PRICELINE or HOTWIRE links to start your purchases and searches. Enjoy your stay. Link to comment
esin
4* San Diego Carlsbad from July 1-4, 2015, entered bids starting $165, free re-bids 13 times up to $158, still got rejected. Priceline Express Deal 4* was $177. I went down to 3.5* Carlsbad, rejected at $130. Priceline Express Deal 3.5* was $155. What's the winning chances? Any suggestion? Link to comment
thereuare
...entered bids starting $165, free re-bids 13 times up to $158...Assuming you didn't decrease your bids as you went along, please confirm your starting and ending bid prices at the 4* level. What's the winning chances? Any suggestion? Not sure exactly what you're asking here... what will it take to win a 4* or 3.5* hotel in this zone OR are you asking what is the likely outcome for one of the PRICELINE EXPRESS properties? What would be your desired max bid per night for this stay???? What is your maximum bid at each star level? thereuare
Please keep all posts for the same stay in the same thread. Once you win a hotel, use the 'ADD REPLY and REPORT WIN' button on the lower right corner of the page to edit the topic title to reflect your win and to provide the details of your purchase. This helps keep the board better organized by reducing the number of unresolved threads that don't have any follow-up or conclusion. You're not too far off in your bidding from the PRICELINE EXPRESS rates, how high are you willing to go at each star level to continue bidding? esin
my budget is $140-150, that's my max bid for both 3.5* & 4* in Carlsbad. Link to comment
esin
the lastest bid rejected was $148 for 3.5* at Carlsbard. PRICELINE EXPRESS is currently listed as $155. I thought that was close, but no luck!Ellen Link to comment
thereuare
Not sure of your needs/location for this trip, but the HOTWIRE zone which includes Carlsbad has slightly different boundaries, and thru HOTWIRE i see what looks to be the highly rated/reviewed (4.5/5.0 TA rating) Lakehouse Hotel and Resort for $128/nite, which technically is in San Marcos, but depending upon your plans for the area may work equally well for your plans (especially given the high reviews and lower price) I also see the Grand Pacific Palisades Hotel for $142/nite should this one be of any interest. Do either of the lower priced options above work for your needs, or should we suggest a bidding strategy for Carlsbad? esin
Unfortunately this is what I see <dead link removed> I wasn't able to find 3.5* for $142 as you mentioned above. Can you send me the link if possible? Ellen Link to comment
thereuare
You can't link to HOTWIRE search results like you did above. Try THIS LINK (it will only work for about 30 minutes and confirm your dates on the landing page, the amenities should match those above, and will also show a $16 resort fee) Did you get to the link in time and did it work? esin
sorry.. I checked it right away I received your message an hour ago, and only saw $180 for 3.5* star in Carlsbad. Link to comment
thereuare
Try THIS LINK...Did you click the 'THIS LINK' immediately above which should: 1) take you directly to the property i'm referencing (but still check all the details) or 2) a message that the offer is no longer available, but in the list of hotels under the message you should still see the 3.5* for $142/nite (and all the information above) Any luck? thereuare
Confirm details on landing page and try THIS ONE. If that doesn't work try using the EASY VIEW tab at BiddingHelper.com to see if you see the 3.5* for $142/nite in this zone. Any luck this time around?
