Priceline Hotel: Chicago for 20-24 April

Hello Betterbidding community,

I have been bidding on Priceline for a room in Chicago for 20-24 April in Millenium Park or Michgican Ave regions. I have tried at least 4 times using the usual Priceline tricks, went as high as $91 for 4* with no luck... Must be a busy week... Today I came across a PRICELINE EXPRESS 4* deal in Michigan Ave. River North area for $100. Still above my expectation yet I might have to consider it. Can anyone try to locate and identify the hotel for me? Any educated guesses?

Also I always access Priceline.com trough Betterbidding...

Thanks..

Sean.

Welcome to Betterbidding. :)

These dates do not appear unusually busy, considering the season. Chicago's cheap in Jan-Mar as the lousy (particularly so this year) weather means few people want to go to Chicago unless they probably have to. Once things get (finally) warmer in April and into May, rates rise as Chicago actually becomes a destination that people want to go to as the weather gets more pleasant. All kidding aside, I'm very familiar with the area and let me know if you have any city questions.

If you would like us to try to ID a listing, people let us know the amenities showing with the PRICELINE EXPRESS listing.

Also, if you want to try something wholly different and stay in a neighborhood instead of downtown, I do see what appears to be the Hotel Lincoln for $95 on HOTWIRE. That hotel is to the North of the city, in the very nice Lincoln Park area (the park/zoo is pretty much across the street.) Let us know if this listing would be of interest and we would be happy to point of which listing is which.

These amenities are common to just about every hotel in the zone at the 4* level, but I'd guess the Allerton would be a definite possibility in this case.

I do see what appears to be the James for $120 on Hot.wire. While unfortunately more expensive, I think that that's an appealing "upgrade" for $20 more per night. The Allerton's reviews have improved somewhat since it was taken over by Warwick and the location can't be beat, but it is an older property with small rooms.

I think my thought is that you may want to consider a bid on Price.line for a 4.5* in the River North-NMA area and the hope would be that you would be able to get something in the $95-105 area. It may not be the James, but if you could get a 4.5* for around $95-105 (possibly $110) that would be more appealing than the Allerton for $100.

Please keep us updated with what you decide and let us know if you have additional questions before bidding/booking.

I'd agree of the guess of the 4* NMA PRICELINE EXPRESS property being the Allerton.
