HEY GUYS,

WAS LOOKING FOR A LITTLE ADVICE AS TO HOW I CAN SAVE THE MOST MONEY BOOKING IN SF AND LA AND ANYWHERE ALONG THE COAST.  WILL BE ROAD TRIPPING FOR A WEEK WITH THE GIRLFIRNED AND WANT TO STAY IN 4* OR HIGHER.

I WILL USE THE LINKS PROVIDED ON THIS SITE BUT JUST WANT TO KNOW WHAT THE BEST TIMINING TO BID IS (NOW, A MONTH IN ADVANCE, A WEEK IN ADVANCE...)

WE ARE NOT SOOO FLEXIBLE IN THE LOCATIONS AS WE WOULD LIKE TO BE IN THE CORE AREAS (UNION SQUARE IN SF AND BEVERLY HILLS IN LA).

AHY HELP IS APPRECIATED.

ALSO GOING TO NEED A RENTAL CAR (CONVERTIBLE) FOR THOSE DATES.

THANKS

Welcome to Betterbidding.

We'll use this thread for your San Fran stay. What are the date/s of travel and what would be your desired max budget per night for hotel?

There is no "best time" to bid - rates are dynamic and can change at any time based on traffic coming over/under expectations (as well as other factors.) Waiting for the last minute definitely does not always lead to cheaper prices, especially as demand has ramped up since 2008.

Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases.

Thanks for the rapid response.

I will be in SF from April 23-25, 2015.  Would like to stay in union square, or financial district or fisherman's Warf.

Let me know if there is anything else I can provide.

Hotwire is at about 180 a night, which I think is high.

Thank you

Rates are currently high for these dates and unfortunately there is no way to know if rates will come down, or move even higher, between now and your stay.

Using our sister sister MAPS and HOTELS.com (where i can easily filter to show only 4* and above rated hotels, then sort by price) the best deal i can find for your dates in the areas you specified is the Serrano Hotel for a refundable rate of $185/nite. Once you confirm your dates and the cancellation policy on the landing page, i would book this as a back-up (which will protect you if rates rise from here) and then use our RateDrop service to get an alert if rates drop closer to your trip (at which point you can cancel this back-up and book at the lower PRICELINE / HOTWIRE rate)

Does this plan work for you?

Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases.

Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
