Also, have you been to NYC before as Upper East Side and Upper West Side are not necessarily the most convenient locations for the average tourist... or do you have reason/plans to be in either of these zones during your trip? thereuare
Further comments: 1) your budget is not likely going to be an issue, at current rates i think you can easily get a 4* hotel within your budget (although there are some other zones you should consider as well, and you may want to exclude CPS as it contains the Hudson Hotel, which while well located, has notoriously small rooms, it's up to you if you'd be comfortable in such a small room for a week long stay) 2) bidding on PRICELINE will usually give you the lowest price, but when doing so you can't ensure Free Internet in the room. If this is a must have (as opposed to a want) then you'll need to use PRICELINE EXPRESS or HOTWIRE and choose a hotel that shows the Free Internet amenity listed. Also, if you need sporadic internet service for short periods of time, keep in mind there are plenty of Starbucks,McDonald's, and other locations that offer free internet (as well as in Times Square)... but this may not be an option if you need to sit and do 'real' work or require internet for a few hours at a time) Let us know regarding the internet issue and we will take it from there.
