Ida E.
Hi everyone, My husband and I are going to spend our honeymoon travelling the American West. We're going to be travelling around for 4 weeks so (obviously) we're looking for affordable accommodation ($100-150/nt) along our route. Our first stop is San Francisco (28 - 31 July). We're looking for a 3* (and up) hotel in these locations: Fisherman's Wharf Financial District Union Square East - Nob Hill Union Square West I can rent an apartment for about $120/nt incl. breakfast. I've checked Hot.wire and found out that most hotels there are beyond our budget (it's high season...I know). Do you think I should try Price.line for San Francisco or would that just be a waste of time? Link to comment
thereuare
Welcoem to BetterBidding! It costs nothing to place a bid so it's worth trying... the worst thing that happens is your bid is turned down, the best case scenario is that you win a hotel for less than your thought would be possible. When bidding 3* in San Francisco you have ONE re-bid zone. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding. Select 3* USE... Bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $120, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINE... Select 3* USW... Bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $150 Any questions feel free to ask (especially confirming your re-bid zones with the board if you're new to the subject). I will add that if the above is rejected, and if you prefer a hotel vs. an apartment, you're likely looking not much more, perhaps $160-$175 for a 3.5* or better hotel. Ida E.
Thanks for the prompt reply. I've tried Priceline now. So far, no luck. I'll try again tomorrow. Link to comment

Ida E.
No, I didn't. My last bid was $120. Actually, I'm not sure if it's worth paying more to stay in a hotel instead of the apartment that I could book. I think I'll take the apartment for now and try Price.line again in a couple of weeks (using your links, of course). I'll keep you informed if I'm successful. Thanks for your time and help!
