Hi,

I am traveling on 8th of January to New York City till 14th of January 2015.

I want to stay in Times Square area and ready to pay $175 for a 4* or better.

I have seen in Hotwire.com that there is a 4* star in Times Square for $210 so I was wondering if I used Priceline, could I get a better deal?

Can you help?

Thanks,

Yogesh

Using our BiddingHelper.com the PRICELINE EXPRESS tab shows a 4* in the Times Square zone for your dates for $122/nite (Double bed) or $124/nite (Queen Bed). The only amenity showing is Restaurant so hard to have too much confidence in any guess since most 4* hotels in NYC have a restaurant, but my best guess for this one would be the Night Hotel New York.

Would this work for your needs OR do you prefer to try bidding? If bidding, should we lower your maximum bid amount?

Hi,

Thanks for your reply.

I clicked on the link and saw in PRICELINE EXPRESS there is a 4* which is for $122/night.

The amenities I can see are as follows:

Guaranteed Amenities:

Restaurant

Fitness Center

Free Internet

Business Center

Looking at your list on the website, it looks like this will be Mela Hotel? Any suggestions?

Also, if we are getting 4* for $122/ night then can we bid for 4.5* for $170, I wouldn't mind upgrading if you think we can get it.

On a separate note: Not to confuse things but while checking PRICELINE EXPRESS I came across Midtown West for $167 for a 4.5* which I thought was a good deal with Amenities:

Guaranteed Amenities:

Pets Allowed

Fitness Center

Business Center

Would this be Royalton Hotel? Any idea?

Apologies for so many questions.

Thanks.

For the 4* Times Square PRICELINE EXPRESS property the amenities are too common that the description provided doesn't provide any insight as to which one this may be... for the 4.5* MTW property my guess would be the Royalton Hotel.

Do you want to go with one of the above or try bidding on PRICELINE for a 4.5* hotel? If bidding, which zones would be acceptable and what should we use as your maximum bid amount?

Lets bid for 4.5* and my maximum amount is $175 / night for Times Square or Midtown Central (West) only.

With this 4.5* MTW hotel (confirm your dates on the landing page) available thru PRICELINE EXPRESS for $167/nite, there would be no point in bidding up to $175 while including this zone since anything over $167 would be an overbid.

This is how i would proceed:

When bidding 4.5* in NYC you have TEN re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.

Select 4.5* Times Square...

Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $105, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $115, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $130, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $133, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $135, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $138, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINE...

Select 4.5* MTW...

Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $105, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $115, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $130, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $133, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $135, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $138, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINE...

Select 4.5* Times Square and MTW...

Bid $140, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $143, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $145, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $148, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $150, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $153, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $155, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $158, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $160, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $163, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $165

The earlier bids don't really have too much of a chance, but you have the re-bid zones available so no harm in trying. If the above is rejected then you can take the 4.5* MTW property linked above.

Any questions feel free to ask.

Good luck and let us know how it goes.
