KarenTa
Looking for a convenient place to stay in New York for the price range of $150-$200. What is the best suggestion on bidding? Link to comment
thereuare
Welcome to BetterBidding! This is the last weekend of the busy (and expensive) NYC holiday season and at current rates i'm doubtful that something at the 3.5* rating in midtown would be available at under $200/nite... you will more likely need to be in the $200-$225 area to be successful; or you could consider staying downtown (do-able but typically not as convenient as midtown for the average visitor) where you can likely land a 3.5* in your budget. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Let us know your thoughts and how you'd like to proceed and we will advise accordingly. KarenTa
When you mean less convenient do you mean it is not close to the subway? Would those hotels be walking distance? If so then staying downtown wouldn't be an issue. Now the issue is what is the best re-bidding process for NY Financial District? Link to comment
thereuare
Less convenient in the sense that the subways downtown run a little less frequently than their midtown counterparts and that once you are on the subway, you're looking at about 15-20 minutes to get to midtown (assuming that is where most of your activities will be taking place). If Downtown is indeed acceptable, please list all the zones that are acceptable (even if you feel they are out of your budget) as it will give you more bidding opportunities. Also, please confirm the star rating you would like to try for first and your maximum bid... we will then be able to suggest a strategy for you to follow. KarenTa
There's a PRICELINE EXPRESS Deal on Priceline with the following information. Which hotel would this one be?4 Star Hotel in Empire State Building Area for $196/night Guaranteed Amenities:Pets AllowedRestaurantFitness CenterFree InternetBusiness Center Link to comment
thereuare
It will take a little while to research the PRICELINE EXPRESS hotel above, so before we do so, note that the $196/nite rate is for a room with one double bed... would this be OK for your needs this trip... or would you first try bidding on PRICELINE for a lower price regardless of which hotel it is above?
