thereuare
These are very expensive dates in NYC as the holiday season comes to a close... what is the minimum star rating you're willing to accept? AaronJB
As noted, this is an expensive time of year, but a couple of examples that I'm seeing when searching for 2 adults: 3.5* TS $188 Fitness, Smoke Free, Free Internet, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Travel Accessible, Room Accessible. Likely match for the Row. 4* MSG $193. Restaurant, Fitness, Smoke Free, Free Internet, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Golf, Blind Accessible, Deaf Accessible, Travel Accessible, Room Accessible, Bathroom Accessible, Roll-in Shower. Likely Wyndham New Yorker. There are some 3*'s slightly lower. The price you see may differ slightly. Would either of these be of interest? shocksisus
I currently have a 3* back up - cancellable -at The Hotel @Times Square. $857 total after taxes. I think I can do better on Priceline for a 3*I guess I will start low TS and MTW?Thanks for your help!(minimum star is 3) Link to comment
thereuare
Please post your hotel rates in terms of room rate per nite before fees and taxes as it makes it easier to compare your options. Not in one of the zones above, but you could book the Hotel 32 32 (confirm your dates on the landing page) for about the same price as your backup reservation above, this one is also cancelable, but this one is higher rated and better reviewed. Are MTW and TS the only zones you're willing to accept? You can currently get a 3* hotel in one of these zones for a $200 (bid price) or less, but also also mention that you can likely get a 4* hotel in the MSG zone (also generally considered to be convenient and well located for the average visitor), and 3 stars can be had for even less ($150-$175 depending upon the zones you choose) in the Soho, Lower East Side, and/or ESB zones. Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll advise accordingly. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. shocksisus
My cancellable reservation averages $250 per night. I am willing to change zones if its a significant savings and still walkable to TS and Rockefeller. Link to comment
thereuare
I am willing to change zones if its a significant savings and still walkable to TS and Rockefeller. What looks like the Wyndham New Yorker (in the MSG zone) is offered on PRICELINE EXPRESS for $185/nite... this would be about 12 blocks to Times Square and 20 blocks to Rock Center (in NYC 1 block = approximately 1 minute); would this be worth the savings vs. your current back-up hotel for a full star rating higher? This property (assuming we are correct) is also right across the street from Penn Station which gives you lots of subway lines to access to get wherever you need to go in the city (you could also easily take the subway to Rock Center if you didn't feel like walking) Would this one work for your needs and be worthwhile to lock-in now vs. your back-up reservation? shocksisus
That seems a bit far. Interested in TS maybe MTW. Definitely WALKABLE to and from TS and ROCK. We may be in for bad weather and do not want to hop on subways or in taxis. New Question!!!! Do you think the arrival of WILL and KATE on my exact dates is going to impact my hotel search and travels in general??? Thanks! Link to comment
AaronJB
Not likely. This is always already a very busy period, as from around 11/25-12/15 is generally the core time for holiday shopping and festivities. I see what may be the Belvedere for $209. Would that be of interest? Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches. Link to comment
