Are you willing to risk landing two different hotels, as there is no assurance that after you make the first book the same hotel will be offered for the second booking.

You actually have two ways to play this:

1) book 2 rooms for the first nite and then 1 room for the second nite. This could result in the guest(s) needing the room for the 2nd nite to have to change properties should a different hotel be received.

2) book 1room for two nites and then an additional room for the first nite. This could result in two different properties being received so each room may be in a different hotel, but those staying for two nites won't need to change hotels.

If you let us know which method is better for your needs this trip (or if neither is acceptable) we can suggest how to best minimize the chances that the hotel is not available when you go to make the second purchase.

For which dates, and how many rooms/adults/children are you searching, to have the property above appear?

Also, I believe there may be more amenities then what you have posted above as HOTWIRE has a new interface that does not show the complete set of amenities unless you click thru a few extra links.

Game plan #2  is most appealing to me.

 

using Bidding.helper the only 4.5 star that shows up is $124 per night and hast this list of amenities:

 

Indoor pool(s), Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Tennis nearby

 

I don't see a 4.5 star withe the list of amenities I originally posted.

Best guess for the HOTWIRE hotel above (which i'm seeing for 1room, 2adults, 10/25-10/27) is the Swissotel Chicago.

To maximize the chance that the same hotel will appear for the solo nite of 10/25 try searching now for 2rooms (even though you only need one additional room) to see if the same hotel (based upon the star rating, amenities, and any other information provided by HOTWIRE) is the same. If you're seeing the same property then it will hopefully still be available after you make the first purchase.

Thanks for the tip - I'm playing around trying to noodle out if I can get the same hotel both nights.

It doesn't look like I can but I can get a 4.5 star Magic Mile River North North for both nights (only my daughter would utilize the room the 2nd night) for $185/night

The amenities are:

... and the same hotel (for $106/nite) when i search for the solo nite of 10/25 (when searching for both 1room or 2rooms)

When I search using Hotwire I only get 4 hotels that in the  Downtown - Millennium Park - Grant Park are....

 

1) 4* $95/night

2) 4.5* $162/night

3) 4.5* $208/night

4) 4.0 $221/night

 

When I search using Hotwire Easyview I only get two.

 

1) 4.0* $140/night - FULL AMENITIES: Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Wheelchair accessible, Accessible bathroom, Roll-in shower

Why do the two searches yield different results with the same parameters?

The 10/25-10/27 search was priced at $124/nite (if i recall correctly... it was very similar if not the same price as your previous post above) but it is gone now and i don't see it on my current search either. I also don't see it offered for the solo nite of 10/25.

PRICELINE EXPRESS does have a 4* hotel in the Loop zone for 10/25-10/27 at $110/nite and what appears to be the same hotel offered for the solo nite of 10/25 at $101/nite (both hotels only show Fitness and Business and have an 8.0 or better user review rating)... my guess here would be the Hyatt Regency Chicago should this work for your needs.

I ended up getting the 4.5* Palomar - Magnificent Mile River North Area for both nights.

The amenities are:

I booked one room for 10/26 $141/night

I went back in and booked 2 rooms for 10/25 $164/night
