I forgot to mention priceline gave me the option of trying again right now for $299 when I used your link.

What was the last bid you made (price, star rating, zones) where you got the $299 counter-bid? The $299 counter-offer doesn't mean that $299 is the required price for the win, the required price is somewhere between the last failed bid and the counter-offer.

Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

When Priceline does this, it means there really is something available somewhere between your last bid and the $299.  Assuming your last bid was the $200 from the pattern you received, the mid-point is right at your max budget.

Things vary, but once in a while a bidder is successful with the addition of only a dollar or a few.  Success in the area of the mid-point is fairly common.  It is quite possible you will be able to land this one within your budget.

Hi,

I've ended up bidding $159 for fishermans wharf 3 star after seeing another post on your forum. I made this bid for only 18-20 September and although I still need to sort out accommodation for the 17th I am very happy with this result so far.

Note I used the links you have provided.

Thanks for all your help I like your service and will use it in future.
