I haven't booked anything yet.  I have been running some bids on priceline for the Evanston area without success.  Saw this 4* on the Hotwire for $66.  Amenities are different from what I had posted previously.  What might your thoughts be on this?

Free Parking

Free Internet

Pet friendly

Indoor pool(s)

Smoke Free Rooms

Fitness Center

Pool(s)

Restaurant(s)

Business Center

Self service laundry

Internet access

Golf Nearby

Accessible path of travel

In-room accessibility

Accessible bathroom

Handicapped parking

Seems like a really good price.

Thanks for your help.

How high and for what star rating have you already tried on PRICELINE?

The Sheraton Chicago Northbrook Hotel would be my best guess for this HOTWIRE property.

I have been trying on Priceline for the Evanston - Skokie - Nikes area.  I have been bidding on 3* and have gotten as high as $72, but not gotten a win.  I would prefer this area, but the prices seem so much higher for less ($118 for a 3*) compared to the Norhtbrook - Glenview - Mt. Prospect area.

Thanks again!

Basically, the Evanston-Skokie area takes overflow traffic from downtown first, as it's closest to the outer boundary of the city line. Only when things are really bad downtown do you see the Northbrook area start to take on overflow from downtown, as well.

Personally, I actually kind of prefer the Northbrook area. Evanston's great, but rarely do the Evanston hotels appear - the Skokie hotels are seen more commonly as a win. Skokie is fine but less convenient to public transit. Most of the Northbrook Hotels are an easy drive from a Metra station and it's a really very nice area. For example, the Sheraton mentioned above is in a great location near a lot of restaurants and a Metra station's just up the street. I think that's a great deal for that property.

Please let us know what you decide and if you have additional questions.

Congrats on your success. :)

I think you made an excellent choice. This is a newer property, which is on the edge of a very nice mall - there's a Whole Foods on the other side of the mall, as well as a number of restaurants scattered through the mall. There's a Target and Costco nearby, as well. Also, lots of restaurants within an easy drive - let me know likes/dislikes and I'd be happy to offer recommendations.

This is the nearest Metra station:
