Just got this PRICELINE EXPRESS deal. It was more than we wanted to spend on this level of hotel as we normally stay in a 4 star in NY for $200 or less. However, with the prices being so high this time of year we had to manage our expectations.I woke up in the middle of the night and took a look without expecting to find anything.

We had been bidding up to $270 for a four star.Even splitting our trip into three sections with no luck. This we way we have one hotel for our entire stay which pleases my girlfriend. We spend alot of time on the east side but I'm sure once we get into town we'll find something(s) to like about this location.

Unfortunately I think this deal may be sold out now.

Congratulations on your success!

Glad to see you found something that is convenient for your needs and thank you for sharing your win with the board.

I think the icon that you are referring to as a 'safe' is actually a printer icon and refers to a Business Center being at the hotel.

Not a printer I don't think. Looks like a little bag?

As an aside, I'll mention that after I placed several

unsuccessful bids I got several emails saying "Choose your

exactle hotel for these dates." It would say the hotel name,

our dates and a price. However when the link was followed

it took you to the PRICELINE EXPRESS Deal search page. Very frustrating.

Almost as frustrating as the multi email exchange I had

with PL customer service about it. Eventually I was sure it

was just bots replying. Haha.

If you search/purchase using our BiddingHelper.com site the amenity names are shown (in clear text) so there would be no question as to what amenity any icons represent. ;)

Thanks for the follow-up... can you let us know the extended dates so we can adjust the topic title accordingly (and the thread will then show for the updated dates in the Priceline and Hotwire Calendar of Wins and Priceline Maps)

Few options i can think of...

1) you should still be able to take AirTran via NJ Transit. If you go to NJ Transit and select the RAIL ONLY option and NEWARK AIRPORT RAIL STATION --> NEW YORK PENN STATION. I searched Sept 18 12:30am and there is service until 2:04am... if search from 1am you'll see that the 2:04am is the last train and then not until 4:48am, so you'll need to ensure you have enough time to get from the terminal --> airtran --> airport rail station before the last 2:04am train.

2) take taxi to Newark Penn Station (not the best of areas, especially at nite) and take the PATH train to World Trade Center (then taxi to hotel)

3) taxi to Grove St or Exchange Place (local companies i can PM you if interested will charge ~$30 vs. taxi line at EWR $45-$50) and then PATH the last leg into world trade center (advantage here is simply shorter ride on PATH and avoiding Newark Penn Station)

The Newark Airport Taxi Fare Rate Card puts the fare to Downtown Manhattan at $50 (not bad actually) but keep in mind that you'll then need to add a fee for any bags over 24 inches (i'm not sure, i'm guessing $1-$2 per bag, toll ($13), and tip (15-20%) so that $50 fare quickly goes to $70-$75)

If it were me, I'd book a private car service like Carmel to take me into Manhattan at that time.  Carmel has coupons you can get at the airport (usually around the baggage carousels) that would give you something like a $6 discount once you call for your car.  That coupon will cover a portion of the toll to get into Manhattan.  Your total cost should be about $60-70 including tip when all is said than done.  The thing I hate the most about trying to take the trains to/from the airport is schlepping luggage up and down the subway station stairs.

You could potentially take NJ Transit from EWR to NYC Penn Station for $12.50 per person, and then take the 1 to Houston Street from there for $2.50 a head.  I figure a taxi from Penn to your hotel will cost you about $12-15 without tip.  It's a question of whether your time and energy spent is worth the hassle of saving a few bucks, especially given the time of day you're arriving at.
