Hi I'd like some help with a strategy to stay ideally Strip South 9/11/14 till 9/22/14 Las Vegas. I wouldn't mind 3 star and above, but my budget ideally would be $50 dollars a night, is this even possible or am I way off? I wasn't sure what the best strategy would be any help would be appreciated I'm coming from the uk and wanted to see if could get the best value possible. Suppose could stretch a bit higher. I have stayed strip east at the Desert Rose but wasn't sure if could get that for this price or anywhere else!

I think $50 may be difficult/unlikely for a 3* for these dates in South, but North and East seem more likely. I'm seeing a 3* North for $50 w/: Resort, Casino, Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Free Internet, Hi-Speed Internet, Golf, Spa, Free Parking, Blind Accessible, Deaf Accessible, Travel Accessible, Room Accessible, Bathroom Accessible, Handicapped Parking, Roll-in Shower (not yet ID'd/reported to the board, but a new amenity set for the Stratosphere would be a maybe) and a 3* East of Strip w/Resort, Suite, Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Golf, Spa, Free Parking, Blind Accessible, Deaf Accessible, Travel Accessible, Room Accessible, Bathroom Accessible, Handicapped Parking, Roll-in Shower, Pet Friendly for $60 (likely Alexis Park Resort.)

Additionally, it looks like there are some patches during this period that are more expensive and you may stand to benefit from breaking up your stay - would staying at 2-3 different properties during this period be of interest if it means a lower per night average?

For splitting, you want to determine which dates are high and which are low.  Assuming 9/15 and 9/16 are high, you'd want to bid 9/11-9/15, 9/15-9/17, and 9/17-9/22 as three separate sets.

To determine the high and low dates, you can look at individual nights with Hotwire, and/or Priceline Express.  Or you can check the web sites of individual casinos in your desired star level and areas.  Many of them have calendars listing rates by date.  Generally the weekends are higher, but sometimes events/holidays/conferences can run up week night rates.  Assuming you don't want to split off the single week nights at the beginning and end of your visit, a likely split will be 9/11-9/14, 9/14-9/19 and 9/19-9/22 (if weekends are the only factor increasing rates).

Regarding which areas, take a close look at the Priceline zone maps.  Different people define "short walk" differently.  Include only those zones where the furthest outer edge is still within your definition of a short walk to the South Strip.

Is the Near Las Vegas Strip East zone acceptable??

PRICELINE EXPRESS has a 3* hotel in this zone for $55/nite so you may be able to win something for your complete stay here for $50, and if not, then you have to consider if worthwhile SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID and needing to change hotels vs. one complete stay at this property.

If you're still intersted in splitting, are you willing to change hotels twice? (so three different hotels) If so, assuming the weekend dates are your most expensive, you could:

9/11-9/14 ==> near Las Vegas Strip East

9/14-9/19 ==> Strip South

9/19-9/22 ==> near Las Vegas Strip East

With all of the above likely coming in at a rate of $50/nite or less.
