Hi i am new to this airfare bidding. I am planning to travel on Dec 22 and return on Jan 21. I am getting a best deal of $1694 in Singapore Airlines in make my trip after searching all the websites mentioned in this forum. Now my questions are

1) If i quote 1000$ would my bid get accepted?

2) What is the cheap and best amount that i should quote in order to get the bid accepted?

3) If my 1000$ bid gets accepted which i think is the best price, but in business perspective of priceline its a loss to them. so, would they by chance change my airport from Los Angeles to some other airport  as i got cheapest deal? If they change airport then i end up paying 200$ to taxi which is not worth(there are few airports near to Los Angeles other than LAX)

4) If i put bid of 1300$ in "Priceline's Quote your price" which is reasonable and i am ready to pay, Is there any guarantee that i get better flight with less connection time and departure airport to be Los Angeles without charging extra amount for baggage?

5) Also i am planning to take luggage of 2*23 bags. So would there be any problem if i book ticket in priceline?

Please let me know the best possible solution.

Thanks in advance,

Sandeep.

Welcome to BetterBidding!

If you haven't yet, please start by reading your messages.

1) If i quote 1000$ would my bid get accepted?

There is no way to know until you try and submit your bid. :)

2) What is the cheap and best amount that i should quote in order to get the bid accepted? When bidding on airfare you have an almost unlimited number of re-bids available. See priceline.airfare (especially the 2nd post) and feel free to ask any questions you have.

3) If my 1000$ bid gets accepted which i think is the best price, but in business perspective of priceline its a loss to them. so, would they by chance change my airport from Los Angeles to some other airport as i got cheapest deal? If they change airport then i end up paying 200$ to taxi which is not worth(there are few airports near to Los Angeles other than LAX)PRICELINE will not accept your bid at a loss to them (they actually don't own any inventory anyway, they are checking with the airlines to see if they will accept your bid price). However, more to the point, the airports will only be those you list as acceptable when placing your bid.

4) If i put bid of 1300$ in "Priceline's Quote your price" which is reasonable and i am ready to pay, Is there any guarantee that i get better flight with less connection time and departure airport to be Los Angeles without charging extra amount for baggage? Not sure what you're asking, but if the question is if you bid $1300 will you get a better flight itinerary than if you had bid $1000? If this is the question then the answer is no, a higher bid does not ensure a better itinerary, you may win the same tix you would have won at $1000 but you would end up overpaying by $300.

5) Also i am planning to take luggage of 2*23 bags. So would there be any problem if i book ticket in priceline? You would need to pay any luggage fees that would be applicable to any other passenger.

Thanks Admin for your reply.

So, now my second set of questions are:

1) There wont be any deduction in my amount if my bid gets rejected?Am i right?

2) If priceline accepts my bid, for sure would i get a confirmed ticket? At last moment of travel, priceline would not cancel my ticket saying my bid amount was less or what so ever reason?

3) Also once the bid gets accepted, the dates, airport which i entered to book the flight are fixed. Right? priceline can not change them according to their convenience. Right?

4) Its trial and error method to bid the amount on airfare in priceline. Right?

TIA,

Sandeep.

You can bid systematically. When bidding on airfare you have an almost unlimited number of re-bid opportunities so you can start low and gradually increase your bid price. See Priceline Airfare Re-Bidding for more info on this method and feel free to ask any questions that you may have in this regard.
