NYCbargain?
Hi guys, I'm new here, so be patient with me :) Me, my better half and another couple are going to NYC Nov 25th to Dec 2nd. We've already made a reservation for Hotel 91 (in Chinatown) for $178 per night (tax included). Since there was a free cancellation clause, we made this reservation just as a fallback if we're not able to find anything better. Our budget is $180 a night (tax included). We're not that picky on the location, although it would be nice if we could stay away from hotels in the Harlem area and Financial district. I know the dates we're in town are pretty busy with Thanksgiving and all. So, my question is, do you think we can get a better deal than what we've already reserved? Which one of the "Name your own price" deal and the Express deal will most likely be the better choice? Link to comment
McGonzo
. . . it would be nice if we could stay away from hotels in the Harlem area and Financial district.Just wondering why you want to avoid the financial district. I'm going there for the first time in November and I was picking that as one of my options. If there are issues with that zone, I'd appreciate hearing about them. BTW, I have a priceline hotel thread for my bids in this forum - might be worth watching as I bid. Link to comment
AaronJB
Me, my better half and another couple are going to NYC Nov 25th to Dec 2nd.NYCbargain?, Welcome to Betterbidding. :) To get started, are you looking for 2 rooms with 2 people per room or 1 room with 4? Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches. Just wondering why you want to avoid the financial district. The financial district zone is generally not as convenient as most midtown locations. One can make it work, but in late November/early December, probably best to be centrally located if possible. NYCbargain?
Hi once again,We were looking for two rooms. We ended up bidding on a Priceline Express-offer for a 4 star hotel in the Financial District at $151 a night (tax excluded). Got World Center Hotel. Since there is Thanksgiving and holidays the dates we're in town, we settled with staying in the Financial District. We're quite happy with this deal [:)] Link to comment
AaronJB
Congrats on your success. :) Nice win for this property and glad you are satisfied with the win. Can you confirm if this was a PRICELINE EXPRESS win (if so, what were the amenities showing with the listing before purchase?) or a bidding win? Thanks. Thank you for sharing your win and please use the site's PRICELINE or HOTWIRE links to start your purchases and searches. Enjoy your stay. Link to comment
