Priceline Hotel: 3* Chicago North Shore (North Shore) Courtyard by Marriott Chicago Glenview

I was looking to book a hotel for one night this upcoming Friday in North Shore, IL (near glenview). I called a friend who is from Chicago to take a look to make sure I am in a good area and while on express deals he was quoted a price of $47 and I was quoted a price of $61 for the same 3.5 star selection.

Is this normal or was my friend misreading his computer? If it is possible to have 2 different prices, how do I trick my computer in to getting me the lower deal? Should I go to my office and use the IP address there?

Thanks

Welcome to BetterBidding!

It could have been different offers OR it could be that one of your computers was using a different currency... if you let us know the details of the offer (dates, star rating, room rate per nite, amenities associated with the property) we will have a closer look (and if we see the lower offer we can usually provide a link for you to use to go directly to the listing)

Since there is no 'Glenview' zone on PRICELINE (i assume you're referring to the 'North Shore' zone), I think you're probably right that your friend was confused with the zone of the 3 star property.

Is this the amenity set you're seeing for the 3.5* in the North Shore zone:

Free Internet in public areas

Indoor Pool

Free Parking

Pets Allowed

Restaurant

Business Center

Fitness Center

... if this is what you're seeing, my best guess for this one would be the Renaissance Chicago North Shore.

Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.

Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help.

Please confirm the amenities showing with each listing and we would be happy to offer our thoughts. Also, I don't think there's a "bad" 3.5* in this zone (North Shore) and especially in the neighboring zone of Deerfield.

I see a 3.5* on HOTWIRE in the Northbrook/Glenview zone for $58 w/Restaurant, Pool, Indoor Pool, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Golf, Tennis, Free Parking, Blind Accessible, Deaf Accessible, Travel Accessible, Room Accessible, Bathroom Accessible, Handicapped Parking, Roll-in Shower. This would be a likely match for the Hyatt Deerfield. If you bid for 3.5* in Deerfield, you could likely get a win between $48-53.

If you get the potential Renaissance North Shore on Price.line, you could walk or get the hotel shuttle (which I believe they still have) to the back entrance of the Chicago Botanic Garden nearby (chicagobotanic.org) - free admission, but costs to park. If you can walk over, no cost to enter.

Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
