jsteph
Booked last-minute Montreal getaway Aug 17-19 and now the fun part of securing a hotel. 1 adult/1 child (15yrs) Usually use Priceline but looked on Hotwire and found the following but not sure of the properties. In particular the 3.5* as I don't see an boutique hotels reported yet. Also, does it mean anything if the amenities are in green as opposed to black? 3.5* $123 Downtown Financial District area boutique hotel; 75% recommended (77 total reviews)Free BreakfastFree InternetPet FriendlyBoutique HotelFitness CentreBusiness Centre 4* $124 Downtown Financial District; 95% recommended (483 total reviews)Smoke free roomsFitness CentreRestaurantsInternet Access Thanks guys!PS For questions re: starting bids on PL should I start a separate thread on the Priceline forum? thereuare
You can keep all posts for this stay in this thread. Once you win a hotel use the "ADD REPLY and REPORT WIN" button on the lower right corner of this page to provide the details of your win... if you ultimately used PRICELINE the entire thread will automatically be moved to that section of the board. I'm not certain of either of these... the 4* might be the Hotel Chez Swann; the 3.5* perhaps the Chateau Versailles. If you are looking to bid on PRICELINE, which zone(s) are acceptable and what would be your desired star rating and maximum bid? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Let us know whatever you decide to do for this trip or if we can be of further help. jsteph
We are looking to stay downtown in the financial district, the closer to central station the better. This is basically a back to school shopping trip. Funny, I was thinking the 3.5 might be Chez Swann. Thanks! Link to comment
thereuare
We are looking to stay downtown in the financial district... There is no 'financial district' zone on PRICELINE, to avoid any confusion, please list your acceptable zones by PRICELINE name. Also, what is your maximum bid? Did you want to first try for a 4* up to your maximum, then if rejected try for a 3.5*... OR is the goal the least expensive 3.5* or better for this stay? (or some other star rating) Please let us know the information above and we'll advise accordingly. jsteph
On Priceline the zone would be Downtown City Centre. It's a much bigger zone than I thought. I'm torn because I can get the 3* Best Western Europa with Airmiles and $50.10 for the two nights. It's not where I would usually stay, but I'm thinking I won't get a 4* for less than $120 a night. The location of the BW is great but the reviews I'm reading are so-so. Soooo conflicted.... do I save the $$ for shopping or pay more for better accommodations with the risk of being on the outskirts of the zone? O.o Link to comment
thereuare
The entire zone doesn't look to be much more than one mile in diameter, so it's not really that large geographically. PRICELINE EXPRESS has a 4* hotel for $118/nite with: Outdoor Pool Pets Allowed Restaurant Business Center Fitness Center ... of course no guarantees, but the Omni Mont Royal has previously been seen with this amenity set, if this one would work well for your plans (and should it be some other property, this offer does have an 8.0/10.0 or better user review rating, so it should at the very least be a 'good' experience) Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or if you do decide to book direct, please use the board's Best Western link (or any of the others found in our Support Page) Your thoughts? jsteph
It looks like my daughter would rather use Airmiles and have the extra cash for shopping. Go figure. Link to comment
