Nitrox Diver TX
I used the links on Better Bidding and selected a 4 Star hotel for July 22-24, 2014 for two nights. I won with $236.00 a night for a grand total of $588.46 with taxes and fees for two nights. The rates via the hotel website were $863.04 for a two night stay with taxes and fees. I saved almost $275.00. That is awesome!!! The Intercontinental Barclay has some dated rooms but they are undergoing renovation now and this most likely attributes to the win on Priceline. The location is great and I could not have asked for a better rate. I had previously tried on several occasions with prices of $90, $125, $150. After looking through this board, Hotwire and Trip Advisor I thought $236.00 might be my best bet. It was. Link to comment

thereuare
Glad to see you're pleased with the outcome. You're also near my often recommended Ess-A-Bagel (Third Ave at 51st St) which has one of the best bagels in the city, makes for a nice, and relatively inexpensive, breakfast among local NYers. Also, if you like SPICEY food, you're not too far from the famous NYC Chicken and Rice Food Cart if you're want to try some of the local 'street meat'. You want the cart that is there late nite (7:30pm-4am) on the SW corner of 53rd St and Sixth Ave... a nice dose of white sauce and use the hot sauce very sparingly as it's EXTREMELY HOT. Best $6 dinner you'll find in the city, and even if you're not interested in trying it, it's worth the walk over to check out the 'scene' as there is almost always a long line surrounding the cart. Have a great trip! Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
