Have you tried bidding up to $110 already for the financial district and were unsuccessful? Would Union Square East or West also be acceptable?

Sharing any prior wins (as separate threads) would be greatly appreciated, as the information does still help others.

Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

We've been able to get the Hyatt for this price from 2009-2012.

It would be appreciated if you started to share your wins with the board.

For your trip above, rates are not that high for these dates so it may just be a little early. You can book a refundable rate at the Hyatt Regency San Francisco for $179/nite and then continue to try PRICELINE once a week or so in the weeks ahead (increasing your budget/bid amount as you get closer to your dates)

If budget is an issue you can also book the Hilton San Francisco for $137 (non-refundable) or $149 (free cancellation) for a Double bed room (if this would work for your needs)

Do keep in mind that when bidding on PRICELINE there is no way to target a specific hotel in the zone.

Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.

Keep us updated on your progress and let us know how you make out or how we can be of further help along the way.

Thank you very much for your helpful response!  I think I did report our wins in the past…but I can't recall.

I'll do that, try again once per week for a while.  As you say, it may just be a bit early.

We stayed at the Hilton Financial District last year (we couldn't get Hyatt) and did not like it.

I'll check back in with my progress and/or win info.

Thanks again!

HOTWIRE and PRICELINE Express are also options and both allow a sense of what prices are like for your dates and the ability to make an educated guess as to which hotels are showing (better chance you may get something you like, although you are limited to the hotels on offer from either service for your particular dates.)

You can also get alerts on rate declines on PRICELINE EXPRESS and HOTWIRE (and regular rates too) via our new service, RateDrop.com

we got the hilton again for $116 from 12/21-12/26.  we are not happy with that hotel.  i tried to complain to priceline but without any resolution.  after staying last year it is my opinion that this is in fact a 3.5* hotel and not a 4* hotel.  any suggestions?  maybe it is not possible to get the hyatt for that price anymore?

anyway, thank you for your help.
