Priceline Hotel: NYC Trip July 2014 Weekday Bidding with Priceline

4 1/2 Stars and 5 Stars NYC Midtown East or UES July 22-25, 2014 or really anytime... looking for a really nice hotel for under $250 a night. I have bid $249 on 5 star for UES and $149 for Midtown East for the above dates. Yes, they were both declined. My parents live in NYC so I can really go anytime. I like trying Priceline to see what I can get for the cheapest amount. I know my bids seem unrealistic but I keep hoping for that one big score! Usually I don't like to pay more than $200 a night and usually wind up in Midtown East. It is a great location and affordable also. If you walk to 2nd avenue there are a lot of great restaurants that are cheap and good with the locals. I just thought I would post and will post my win through the board links .

If you're able, i would try bidding weekends and including the Sunday nite, as on average this will generally be the days of the week in NYC when hotels have the least occupancy/greatest vacancy and are more likely to offer a deep discount.
