Any idea what hotel? As always, I clicked thru your links. Sorry that should read 3.5*, not 4*.

Best guess for the 3.5* Newport Beach property above would be the Radisson Hotel Newport Beach, upgraded to the 3.5* level since the last time it was reported to the board.

Okay thanks. I kind of thought that may be the case, as well. I'll update you guys if I decide to move forward with that booking. I'm not in a rush, so I'll be watching to see what else may pop up.

Oops sorry- it's a 4* rating. I always cross check with the lists on BB... sometimes it's just hard to narrow down when there are several with the same star rating. :)

The Avenue of the Arts Wyndham Hotel would be my best guess for this property, but if you are interested in this property let us know as i think there is a slightly better way to play it.

We were hoping for something closer to the beach. We are hoping to stay around $120 or less per night.

If you search our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com (where you can get a very good visual of hotels that are near the beach as well as their star ratings and prices) you'll see that there really are not many 3* or higher hotels that are near the beach, and of those that are, the 2.5* properties start at $200+ and the 4* hotels at $300+, so something that is close to the beach for less than $120 doesn't seem likely for these dates.

If you could pick any hotel(s) in this area... which one(s) would you want?

Yeah, I'm very familiar with the area as we used to live there until a few years ago. I don't necessarily have a preference in hotel- was just hoping for closer, at a decent rate. I know we're going during peak season, so everything runs higher, though. I wouldn't mind Irvine as long as it was north of the spectrum area. Ideally we would like to be in Newport.
