I'm looking to book 2 rooms for 2 nights in NYC on Sunday June 22 and checking out on June 24, but I'm finding the zones to be a little overwhelming and not sure how to go approach the bidding.I'm hoping to book something under $120 (I'd love under $100) preferably with decent ratings/reviews, convenient location and Free WiFi access at the hotel is a big bonus.The areas I'm most interested in are Chelsea, Empire State, Madison Square Garden, Midtown East, Midtown West, Time Square, Hell's Kitchen, Central Park, Union SquareI would be willing to stay in either upper east, upper west, Lower east, Soho and maybe even downtown/financial district if I have to, to stay under budget. If I previously add my first set at 3.5 stars will I not have to add the second set 3.5 stars as well? or do I wait a full day and re-start the bidding? Unfortunately I tried the strategy and didn't get anything :( I even tried including upper east, upper west, soho, lower east and downtown. I did take out CPS because the Hudson would really not work for us. What do you suggest I do next? I could either try for 3 stars but I think I would exclude ESB area because some of the hotels don't have the best reviews or increase my price and stay within at the 3,5 stars level. I do see a PRICELINE EXPRESS deal for a 4 star in midtown for $145 If a 3 star is only going to be marginally less say then I would rather continue trying for a 3.5 and up. The 3.5* i think you're referring to for $145/nite is i the MSG zone and has: Restaurant Business Center Fitness Center ... is this the one? If so, a property with this amenity set has not yet been reported to the board, and these amenities are too common to take an educated guess, based upon the info provided by PRICELINE EXPRESS... but this property does have a very good 8.0/10.0 rating by previous PRICELINE guests. As well, using the discount link and code in my signature takes an extra 5% OFF this deal, bringing the rate down to $138/nite. I would either take the $138 rate (knowing that it is a 'good' hotel based upon the 8.0/10.0 rating) OR if price is more important, bid again up to $135/nite (or whatever number you feel appropriate) and if rejected take the PRICELINE EXPRESS offer. Let us know what you decide and how it goes, or if we you'd like us to revise the bidding strategy let us know your new maximum bid and we'll advise accordingly. tantar Posted June 6, 2014 Author Report Share Posted June 6, 2014 It's funny, I think the one I was seeing has disappeared. It was a 4* in MTE. And I think the one you are mentioning is only there for a single room. When I enter 2 rooms in the search, the price does go up. The best one I currently see under Priceline.Express is a 4* at MSG for 163 or a 4* at MTE for 165 which comes out to 155 with your link. Could you suggest a strategy to go up to $140 a night?
