trevor_layton
Hi. Newbie here, still learning how this all works. Looking for stay in Las Vegas for 3 nights (from May 7th - May 10th 2014). Priceline have an "Express Deal" for $123 a night in Las Vegas Strip Vicinity North, but I'm thinking this may be the Trump hotel which I'm trying to stay away from due to distance from the main strip. My question is.... if I name my own price for the same vicinity at around the same price will I automatically get The Trump? Or is there a way around this? Thanks for you help. Link to comment
trevor_layton
I may have just figured out the answer to my question.... I've just realised the Trump is in 'Las Vegas Strip Vicinity North', which is separate to Las Vegas Strip North'. I can just leave that area out and I will be ok. In that case I am looking for a 5* in Las Vegas Strip North. Any tips on prices to start for NYOP? Link to comment

trevor_layton
Probably around the $120 mark. I saw someone got Vdara for $114 a night with similar dates... I would be happy with that. Link to comment
AaronJB
Based on the rates I'm seeing, unfortunately I think you're likely looking at $145-165 for a 4* in the Strip North area. I do think you could get a 5* in Strip South for within your desired budget, but it may be a property w/o casino. Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches. Link to comment
trevor_layton
After looking a bit more I think I would be happy with Strip South, and also happy with no casino (probably prefer actually). Link to comment
thereuare
TO RECAP: a 5* hotel in the Strip North or Strip South zone, no Trump, with a maximum bid of $120/nite Assuming this is correct, i suspect that at current rates $120 will likely fall just a bit short ($130-$150 would give you a much higher change at success) you can try the following... When bidding 5* in Las Vegas you have ELEVEN re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding. (and don't include Strip North Vicinity if you're trying to avoid the Trump).... Select 5* Strip North and Strip South... Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $95, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $103, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $105, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $108, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $113, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $115, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $118, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $120 I have left off one re-bid zone in case the above is rejected and you want to increase your bid right away (if so post back and we'll revise the strategy to your new maximum bid). Any questions feel free to ask. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Good luck and let us know how it goes.
