LayLin
We are traveling with some friends to Orange County in the end of June. I'd like to use Hotwire to book our hotel, but I'd like for each of us to book our own hotel. If we both go to Hotwire the same day, see the same rate, with the same amenities, in the same area, are we, in fact, guaranteed to be booking the same hotel? I don't want to pay the price for both rooms and deal with one of us reimbursing, but I'd rather do that than have one of us end up at a different hotel. Thanks! Link to comment
thereuare
Welcome to BetterBidding! If you haven't yet, please start by reading your messages. You are better off purchasing both rooms and then having your friend reimburse you as you otherwise run the risk of receiving different hotels. The scenario you propose makes it likely that you will receive the same property, but we have seen similar instances where users have received different properties. TWO of the most likely scenarios where something could go wrong... 1) only one hotel room in inventory so you each see it offered when searching. You both click BUY simultaneously but one of you gets the hotel and the other gets a 'no longer available' message. 2) two hotels with the same amenity set, so you each get a different property You an minimize the chance of scenario #1 above by first searching HOTWIRE for 2 rooms to ensure at least two rooms are available for purchase, then change your search to one room and have you each make the purchase, but still no guarantees. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. (and please ask your friend to do the same... the search boxes at the top of the board are easily used and the logos within them are click-able as well) If you'd like help with a guess at any hotel currently offered please provide the details of your trip (number of rooms, star rating, city, zone, room rate per nite, dates of travel, and amenities associated with the offer) and we'll have a look. Also, NOTE that to see the complete amenities associated with each you will need to do one of the following: 1) use the EASY VIEW tab of our BiddingHelper.com and click the green 'See All Amenities' button OR 2) search HOTWIRE (or use the HOTWIRE tab at BiddingHelper.com) and...click the offeron the next page click the BOOK NOW linkin the TRIP SUMMARY box click the 'See more' link at the end of the amenities Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
