Canceling Priceline NYOP Reservation

My wife and I were planning a short getaway at the first of December. My brother-in-law has been called back for active duty and will be leaving at the same time for a 12 month tour. Is there any way I can cancel this trip and receive some sort of refund? We think it would be best to stay at home with the family before he leaves. I did purchase the travel insurance if that helps my case.

Thanks for the help.

While we welcome both positive and negative experiences, please keep in mind that the spirit of this message board is helping users.

If you have a complaint, problem, or question with a recent or upcoming Priceline/Hotwire stay, we will be happy to do what we can to help, but please be considerate of the board's primary goal of helping others and first post the details of your 'win.'

It is important for everyone to know when problems and customer service issues arise, but the majority of the users come here to see winning bid information... so please oblige them with this information before asking for them for help.

Please post the details of your purchase to the board and then reply to this thread, we will then comment as to your situation above.

To the admin.......I was wondering if you have an answer for this gentleman above.   Yes, it would have been nice to hear the winning bid but we just as much wanted to hear the answer to his question.

Would purchasing trip protection help at all in his situation?

Thank you

I would have to read thru the terms of the policy but my guess:

The OP would not be eligible for a refund as the person being deployed is not himself nor an immediate member of his family.

IF it was he that was being deployed and therefore couldn't make the trip i would think that most policies cover such a situation, but whether this one actually does or not i couldn't say.
