thereuare
Welcome to BetterBidding! We are looking for 6 x double/twin rooms in mid town Manhattan or the Soho area.To begin can you clarify the above... do you need 6 rooms that will each accommodate double occupancy OR do you need two separate beds in each room?Let us know the above and we'll take it from there. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Divesh
Hi there,Thanks for getting back to me.1 x double occupancy and 5 x seperate beds would be ideal but not essential. Long as we have 6 rooms that accomodate 2 people per room that's fine...it doesn't matter too much whether they're double occupancy or seperate beds. Our main aim is to get a nice clean hotel in Mid town within our budget. Many thanks for your help! thereuare
Your budget is only about a $135 before taxes/fees which likely will only be enough for something less than 3 stars, but i'll caution that the lower star ratings in NYC can go either way... you can get a nice deal on a diamond in the rough OR you could get something that you wish you were staying elsewhere.Let us know your thoughts and how you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... and please click each of these links before replying.Thanks. Divesh
In that case would we be able to get a 4 star within our budget if we look in other areas outside midtown?Maybe any of the following areas:zone 15: sohozone 6: empire state area zone 3 chelseaAre there any other area's you can recommend which are suitable for sight seeing and allows us to have a 4 star hotel within our budget. We wanted to avoid time square as we know it can be very busy but we'll also consider time square if we can get a 4 star hotel here. Many Thanks Link to comment

thereuare
You can try, but based upon current rates i don't think your $135/nite budget is going to be enough for a 4* hotel anywhere in Manhattan. If you list all acceptable zones we will suggest a strategy for you to follow, but my guess is that if you're sticking with a $135 budget it will fall short.HOTWIRE does have a 4* hotel in the ESB zone for $178/nite which i'm guessing to be the Kitano (Boutique, Business, Blind Accessible, Deaf Accessible, Travel Accessible, Room Accessible, Roll-in Shower) and that would be a very nice deal for this well reviewed property, but you would need to stretch your budget a bit. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there. Divesh
Hi there,Thanks for your help! We're interested in booking Kitano but I'm bit cautious if it doesn't turns out to be some other hotel. Is this a big gamble or we can't really go wrong with a 4* in ESB zone becauase they're all nice hotels? Alternatively do you think we could we get a 4*/3.5* in the following areas for a budget of $180 inc tax?12 - midtown west11 - midtown east6 - empire state area2 - central park south 16 - time square 3 - ChelseaSohoIdeally we're happy with any hotel thats clean and good central location for sight seeing. Thanks! thereuare
Some good news and some bad news...For your complete stay the 4* ESB property is no longer offered and the best rate for a 4* hotel anywhere in Manhattan on HOTWIRE is $211 (in the Central Park East zone) and $223 in the MSG-Hells Kitchen (after these two rates go to $300+ on HOTWIRE).The $178 rate is still available 6/18-6/21 so you could book that and a different hotel for the first nite of your arrival.Looking at 6/17 on its own there is a 4* hotel in the MTE zone for $169/nite which i suspect is the Doubletree Metropolitan. At current rates there isn't too much at the $200 and under so i'd be less concerned about specifically receiving the Kitano and more concerned with staying as close to your budget as possible, as these look like tough dates at the moment. (and while i do believe that this offer is still the Kitano, should it be some other property, it's still a "good one" based upon the 95% recommendation from previous HOTWIRE guests and the 4.0/5.0 TA rating)Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know your thoughts and how you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there.
