creomedia
Can you suggest what a reasonable bid would be for a 4 star downtown Chicago hotel on Dec 29th 2012 - Jan 1st 2012?A straight purchase would be $135 for the Fairmont so I was wondering what a reasonable bid would be for a similar hotel. Thanks so much! Link to comment

creomedia
Preferably... Millennium Park, Loop & Grant Park AreaI was hoping for $100 a night if possible.. Link to comment
AaronJB
I would start at $75 for a 4* and work higher by $5's using re-bidding. $75 isn't likely to be accepted (I'm guessing more in the $85-95 range), but you should likely be able to get something for at or around $100. Please let us know if you have any questions.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches. Link to comment

creomedia
How do the above links work?Yes, I know how to re-bid by adding zones but I would only want the 1 zone for this trip. Link to comment
thereuare
How do the above links work?Just click the links to begin any of your bidding, searches or travel purchases ;)Yes, I know how to re-bid by adding zones but I would only want the 1 zone for this trip.I don't think you understand re-bidding as defined on this board. Re-bidding is adding a zone that you don't want, but is one that you couldn't win a hotel in since the zone only contains star ratings lower then the star rating you have selected. Have you read thru the Priceline Re-Bidding Explained link? If not, please read the information there (at least the first few posts) and we'll take it from there or can clarify re-bidding further... but in order to avoid any mistakes (and end up in an area you didn't intend) i wouldn't use this technique until you've confirmed your re-bid zones with the board. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Please remember to follow-up your threads with your wins/decisions as you make them (even if you don't ultimately use PRICELINE / HOTWIRE, cancel the trip, book direct, etc) as this help keep the board better organized and more useful for everyone... as well as being a courtesy to anyone who took the time to help with your travel plans.
