yasafi
Planning a trip to the strip in June (15 - 17). Do prices generally go down as date gets closer? Link to comment
AaronJB
Welcome to Betterbidding. :)There is a detailed discussion of purchase timing in the PRICELINE FAQ. Prices do not necessarily go down closer to the date, especially if something is going on. If you need assistance with your stay, please provide your desired budget, star rating and which zones would be of interest.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches. yasafi
Thank you; Will probably stick to 4 or 5 star anywhere on Strip. Love your site. Will use your link. Link to comment
thereuare
Thanks for the compliments on the site :)Are you willing to pay more for a 5* vs. a 4* OR is your goal the least expensive 3.5* or better for this trip? What is your maximum bid (at each star level if it will be different for 5* vs. 4*)Let us know the above and we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow. Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board. yasafi
Price range is $125 per night, obviously cheaper the better. I don't like a lot of the resorts in the 3.5* range so I was just going to avoid those. As far as "bidding" I have not looked at priceline as it seems that I can narrow down my options a lot better on Hotwire. Correct me if I am wrong on this. I have never used either site. thereuare
You're correct that it's easier to narrow the choices down with HOTWIRE than with PRICELINE.With PRICELINE you have to be able to accept any hotel in the zone at the star level (or higher) that you choose. With HOTWIRE you can often take an educated guess as to what is being offered based upon the amenities associated with the property, but it's still a 'best guess' and no guarantees you will receive the hotel you're hoping for.The trade-off is that HOTWIRE usually costs a little more than PRICELINE.If you search HOTWIRE for your dates, is there anything in your desired zones, star rating and budget? If so, let us know the details of the HOTWIRE offer and we'll have a look and take it from there. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
