Hi guys!

I will be in NYC in October from the 9th to the 16th and I am searching for an upgrade to my hotel.
Do you think that I have a chance to get a great deal if I wait until shortly before that date (since hotels would be
more sure that they might not be fully booked that week)?

As i said, I already have a hotel, but I want to surprize my girlfriend with something nicer.
I am hoping for Manhattan, 3 1/2*, 150$ (would pay up to 175$ for 4*).
Does anyone have experience with late bidding?

If you are able to get a 3.5* for $150 (or even $175) that would be a pretty good deal for this time of year, so i don't see much benefit in waiting. Also see the related link in our PRICELINE FAQ.

Thanks for the quick reply!

My current hotel is the Royal Park Hotel on 97th & Broadway (West Side) and I think I pay a little over 110$ (incl. taxes) per night.
It would be ok, since I am not planing on spending a lot of time in the hotel anyways, but if I get a great deal that is a little closer in the center as
well, I would def. take that!

Also, what do you think would be a good, but reasonable price for 3*. I think a 3* hotel in the center (from central park south down to the finacial district, maybe excluding hells kitchen)

I hope that clears the situation up.

Dieter

I'm guessing you're looking at ~$200+ for a 3* if you include Downtown... ~$225+ for something more central.
