I'm flying into EWR on 9/22-9/26, going to an event at Radio City Music Hall on 9/24 and have never been to NYC or do not feel safe out alone on the train late night. I have exhaustively looked at options in NJ - staying on train path and I am just now trying to resprt to NYC Times Square area, or Midtown East/West where I can take a cab at midnight or around that time to my hotel. My budget is $150, or at most $175 per night. Is it even feasible in these areas? Any other tips? I was originally staying in NJ and going to take train to Penn Station but I'm worried about the return at night...:)...I bid on priceline up to $150 ton
ight, my first try...No luck...

I am staying in NJ on Sept 22 - 26 and am trying to get the Madison Hotel in Morristown, NJ. It is one of the Hotwire hotels listed in NJ in that area for 3.5 *, I see 1 hotel at 3.5 *, 1 at 3 * with a kitchenette/suite, and one at 4. I am really trying for this hotel because its right next to Convent Station and I'm going to NYC one day by train. I've stayed at this hotel before and it is one of the nicest places, its beautiful, has everything you need and the price is unbeatable at the normal rate, but I'm on a budget this time...Any advice, I'd bid but I don't know if I'd get it, I've seen two people here bid at $40-$45 and they won...but it was typically one night. Just wondering if all three can be identified to pinpoint which is the Madison Hotel.

I even thought of calling the hotel and try to deal with them, but not sure if that's a good idea...If I can't get this hotel I'm going to next try Jersey City..

Welcome to Betterbidding. :)

$150-175 is likely not going to be realistic for these dates for a 4* and very possibly may not be enough for a 3.5*. What bids have you made so far?

Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

If you would like assistance trying to ID a listing, please provide the complete list of amenity icons showing with the listing, as well as date/s of travel and zone. Additionally, the complete list of hotels that have been reported to the board in New Jersey, as well as the amenities associated with each listing - is available at this link. There's no way to guarantee a particular property with either service - with HOTWIRE, only one hotel shows at each star level in each zone for each set of dates, and this particular property may not be available for these dates on the service.

Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

You have to separate threads running. Please keep all posts in the same thread since posts are for the same stay.

Are you going to stay in NJ or NYC?
