I am booking for one night on 9/25 in the Garden Grove area.

Using this site PRICELINE link, I Tried:

Garden Grove $44 (first choice)
Anaheim Hills $46
Laguna Beach $48
Laguna Hills $50
Seal Beach $53

I will try again tomorrow.

Any pointers when trying again? Should I start at $55 tomorrow OR can I start again at $48 or so?

Thx!

Rates looks a bit higher (not much) for your date.

Do you wanna close this stay now or do you wanna keep bidding low for some time? What would be your max budget for this stay before tax/fee?

Thanx for using boards PRICELINE link :)

YD - I am in no rush to close - I'd like to get the best bang for my buck so I want to stay under $50 for the 3.5* option. I see that it is possible. I will wait it out and try every few days.

What do you think?

Yes, keep bidding up to $50. My guess is that it takes more, but you should try.

Keep us updated in this thread.

Good luck!
