Flew into Atlantic City for a last minute weekend getaway with my best friend. A sort of girl's weekend - but with boys... Got an amazing deal on airfare from Boston on Spirit Air and an even better deal thru Priceline for the Chelsea. We checked in early at around 1 PM on Saturday. We were given a corner room with an ocean view - King Bed, flat panel TV, really nice large bathroom with all modern fixtures & amenities in the Luxe Tower section of the hotel, Apparently if you win the Chelsea thru Priceline, they always put you in the tower. Everything was clean, very modern with a 60's retro kind of vibe. Great lamps & retro decor. I was so surprised when we saw that we had an ocean view since I had booked on Priceline, I thought for sure we would have a city view. It was a fabulous surprise and the start to a great weekend away. We did have a minor problem where the bathroom sink drain was broken & unable to close & open. We called the front desk & someone was sent within 30 mins to fix it. I did also notice the noise of the doors closing from other rooms, but it was not something that would ruin your trip(unless you let it). We did go to the pool bar & pool area. The bar was great with interesting people & good drinks. Pool was very clean, heated, with very comfortable lounge chairs. All of the public areas were clean & well kept with very interesting decor. On Saturday night we did sit in the lobby to people watch, as the fifth floor of the hotel acts as a popular night club where the 20 somethings congregate. As you can imagine, at 1-2 AM on a Saturday night, there are quite a few interesting sights to see... Everyone at the hotel was very helpful from the front desk, bartenders, fixit guys, & housekeeping. We never had an issue with any employee there. I did request a late checkout which was readily given to us & then we left our luggage at the hotel as flights were 4 hours later. All in all, The Chelsea is a nice alternative to the Casino hotels. Somewhat quieter with very comfortable accommodations, Service is on par with a 3.5 to 4 star hotel. A GREAT STAY!!!!!!!
