My bids were as follows:
3* DT - $39 3* DT + NW Portland - $42 3* DT + South Waterfront District - $45 3* DT + NW + SWD - $48 3* CC - $37 3* CC + DT - $39 3* CC + NW - $41 3* CC + NW + DT - $43 3* CC + SWD - $44, which was accepted by the Courtyard Lloyd Center. I would have preferred to stay downtown, even though I'll be spending most of my time in the Convention Center area, but decided that this time I was willing to take a room in the CC area to save money. The rate at Marriott.com was $99.

My bids:
3* Galleria - Dallas North: $25 3* Galleria + Garland: $27 3* Galleria + Grand Prairie South: $29 3* Galleria + GPS + Garland: 30, which was accepted by the Holiday Inn Dallas North-Addison. I used a $50 coupon for this bid (my winning bid was actually $20+$10 bonus), so the total came to only $131.20 after taxes and fees! Reviews for this hotel are mixed, but it's close to the event I'll be attending in Dallas, and I don't think I can really go wrong at this price (advance purchase rate on the Holiday Inn's website was about $90/night). Thanks again to dutchie26 for telling us about the bonus cash.

I'm attending the same event at the Holiday Inn Portland Airport as last year. The Holiday Inn seems to be coming up less often on Hotwire than last year, so I decided to book it once it came up (I've been checking periodically for about two months). Hotwire's rate was $39 for 2 adults and $44 for more than 2 people; since I'll probably have a roommate, I decided to book for 4 adults (Hotwire booked a room with 2 double beds when I did this last year) and pay the extra $5/night. Our group rate is $89/night, about the same as the HI's Advance Purchase rate.
Amenities: Shuttle, Fitness, Pool, Restaurant, Business, Laundry, High-Speed Internet.

I bid for this on behalf of a friend; $44 was rejected. I started my bid from the PRICELINE link.

I bid for this hotel on behalf of friends who will be attending the same event in Portland that I am. I started at $32 and bid up in $1 increments using various tricks, including dropping to 2.5* (there are no 2.5* hotels in the Convention Center zone). The total came to $147.33 after taxes and fees. The Red Lion's 24 Summer promotional rate (one night non-refundable deposit required) was $75.
The good news for them is that this is the host hotel. The bad news is that it's the Red Lion. But I think they'll be happy with the deal. |
