I'm new here, but I thought I would offer my two cents regarding traveling to Florida, particularly Disney World.

My wife and I were looking for some deals so we did the following - We found out about Springhill Suites on International Drive. This best kept secret provides fabulous rooms, nice swimming pools and hot tubs for end of day relaxation and is right next to a small shopping plaza.

But what's best about it is two things: complimentary hot buffet style breakfast every morning and free shuttle to and from disney. This saved us a ton of money because we had a hearty breakfast and we didn't have to pay for disney hotel rates and disney food rates. Plus we didn't have to rent a car (and pay for parking at disney too). While it did mean we coudn't just crash during the day at disney without waiting for a shuttle back, we didn't ever need to do this.

And the rates were great. We paid $125 at the time (three years ago) which is really cheap for disney area hotels but given these new strategies I'm learning here I'm sure you could get a better deal.
